For all the Penguin fans out there, I hope that you all noticed what transpired this past week... Mark Recchi might be the MVP - Most Valuable Penguin of the week.
He was the one person who realized how tough a time Jordan Staal was going to have with the passing of his grandfather and reached out to help. Not only did he make arrangements for the young man to attend the funeral, he was there for him as a friend as arole model and most importantly as a human being.
Kudos to you Mr. Recchi for being true to your friends... with the unceremonious dumping of Recchi in the middle of the season, it would have been very easy for him to have some resentment towards the Penguins and their team, buthe was above all that and was a beacon of light for this young man during his time of need.
We as a fan base need to appreciate this, once a Penguin always a Penguin... so Marian Hossa, Ryan Malone and all the other free agents out there... you have a chance to be a part of something special in Pittsburgh, we are in this together as a team... the grass or in this case the money is not always greener on the other side... ask Jaromir Jagr and Kevin Stevens what happens when you chase a dollar...
