Grossman is a good pro QB. If he was put on a well rounded offense he would be successful. He has no help on offense none. Da Bears are the worst offensive team in football. Probably the best fade passer i'v ever seen. he needs a wr or te he can trust. And Not A Mushin Barrack Hussein Muhammed Obama

I love these Fudge fans talking about how they are God's gift to football. Not only does Rex own the Fudge, Orton does as well. I would advise you people (Fudge fans) to be ready for a letdown season that translates to a 7-9 record.

Rex= 3-1 vs. The Fudge

Kyle= 2-0 vs. The Fudge

Case closed.

It has to be Grossman. I think Rex has a great arm and if he can be a little more consistent he could be very good. He needs more of a solid running game and offensive line (which I think will be better this year.)

Orton is not great overall and doesn't have the upside of Grossman.  If the Bears had some better options, I'd think a third option would be great- but that's not the case.

Has anyone still bashing Grossman considered the fact that he's got terrible numbers due to his piss poor offensive line?

I mean, yeah of course he's made many mistakes rushing passes and releasing early, but have you ever considered that if he had a few extra seconds of time to think before he was raped by an OLB or DE, he would have better numbers.  Just a thought.

Still think we were stupid to not draft Brohm.

I've only read pages 1 and 4 of this thread so maybe the points already been made.

Anyone who's seen rex play much will know the has two big problems. Yeah he makes bad decisions now and then, but he also has absolutely no feel for pressure coming in the pocket. People can make excuses and say he needs an O-Line, WR's or a RB, but they will not help these problems, eventually it comes down to him.

I've seen rex get flattened so many times because he has no feel whatsoever for pressure. This is an intangible. Its not taught, you've got it or you don't, and rex hasn't got it. If he doesn't get perfect protection and a WR right on his mark, rex has very little chance. No feel, no mobility, he's a sitting duck. This aint college, a strong arm isn't enough.

To flog the point i'll give an example. Romo has a good line in front of him in Dallas and gets a lot of good protection, but even he gets pressure sometimes. The difference is Romo can feel it coming and still pull out a play. He has an intangible that rex doesn't.

As for the question. Orton should start. He's been treated poorly by the Bears. Rex had his chance and didn't deliver consistently enough.

That is the question that plagues us I guess--Grossman or Orton or Vet FA after the June cuts.  It is all up in the air but of the two who would be the lesser of two evils.  Grossman has the gunslinger and is not afraid to throw the pass downfield.  Orton on the other hand is a little more  cautious with his throws making them count.  The turnover ratio for both are not that far apart.
