Manning, the thing I doubt is that Cleveland's situation is a 'fantasy.' Anderson threw a LOT of interceptions in college, and despite his good showing last year, he still throws too many interceptions. He also holds the ball low which leads to a lot of fumbles. In fact, he is almost the spitting image of Drew Bledsoe in the way that he stands in the pocket. I liked Bledsoe a lot as a QB, but his style sure seems to be out of favor in the NFL these days. I'm not convinced Anderson is 'all that.' Quinn almost certainly is not very good at all. I remember hearing the USC D-Coordinator saying in a radio interview: "I don't know where they get all this (hype) from. The kid doesn't throw the ball very well. Its a matter of taking away that wide-out (meaning Samardzia)." That same coach said of Oregon's Clemens the same year: "Their wide-outs can run, and that dude can sling it." so its not like he just trashed everybody with typical SC bravado.
Also, I have to agree with the many KC responders who say QB isn't truly a controversy here yet. Many have accurately pointed out the HORRIBLE o-line play, but let's also point the finger - the middle one - at King Carl for aiming last year's heavy salary dollars at the dime-a-dozen RB position instead of the glaring need at O-line. Meanwhile, don't give King Carl too much credit for this year's good draft. The needs were obvious, and the obvious players were sitting there at draft time. It would have taken a total moron to screw it up. The kind of moron who drafts a kicker in a youth movement, then cuts him from a hopeless bottom rung season to sign a 44 yr old kicker on his farewell tour.
