McCown is not a reach.  Both he and his brother are quality backups but certainly not top notch starters.  Simms on the other hand is a scrub who I see pretty equal to Brady Quinn and I did say MAYBE Simms.  I do think Anderson will work out, he seems to have the tools, but I honestly think that Browns fans better fall in love with this guy and hope he keeps up the good play for years to come because the second option is going to fail.

Do you watch football?

The Texans just made an improvement at the QB position last year, and when healthy, Schaub was a solid starter.

The Falcons have a clear starter - M. Ryan.  Maybe in a year or two if he does not pan out the Falcons will be on a list of teams with a QB controversy.

Redskins - again - not a real problem here.  This team is not designed to win games through the air.  J. Campbell can do the job by bot throwing 3+ picks a game and feeding the TE (Cooley) for first downs to keep the chains moving and give Portis more opportunities to win the game for them.

The Vikings?  Again, you understand that this article was about teams with a QB controversy going on....right?  There is no controversy in Minnesota - T. Jackson is thier guy.  You should remember that he was 8-3 as a starter last year.  His role is similar to that of Campbell - just don't lose the game.

Not every team can have a P. Manning.  Figure it out.

Your point about Brodie running for his life is well thought out, when Willie Roaf left LJ's numbers took a significant drop. I hope they resolve that problem since I believe LJ is "top shelf" at rb and I hate to see talent like that go to waste. As far as Brodie being a regular I'm going to stick to my first thought until he proves me wrong. (would not be the first time) we're cool

TB bishop

Your point also sounds well thought out and time will tell who is right.

Manning, the thing I doubt is that Cleveland's situation is a 'fantasy.' Anderson threw a LOT of interceptions in college, and despite his good showing last year, he still throws too many interceptions. He also holds the ball low which leads to a lot of fumbles. In fact, he is almost the spitting image of Drew Bledsoe in the way that he stands in the pocket.  I liked Bledsoe a lot as a QB, but his style sure seems to be out of favor in the NFL these days. I'm not convinced Anderson is 'all that.'  Quinn almost certainly is not very good at all. I remember hearing the USC D-Coordinator saying in a radio interview: "I don't know where they get all this (hype) from. The kid doesn't throw the ball very well. Its a matter of taking away that wide-out (meaning Samardzia)." That same coach said of Oregon's Clemens the same year: "Their wide-outs can run, and that dude can sling it." so its not like he just trashed everybody with typical SC bravado.

Also, I have to agree with the many KC responders who say QB isn't truly a controversy here yet. Many have accurately pointed out the HORRIBLE o-line play, but let's also point the finger - the middle one - at King Carl for aiming last year's heavy salary dollars at the dime-a-dozen RB position instead of the glaring need at O-line.  Meanwhile, don't give King Carl too much credit for this year's good draft. The needs were obvious, and the obvious players were sitting there at draft time. It would have taken a total moron to screw it up. The kind of moron who drafts a kicker in a youth movement, then cuts him from a hopeless bottom rung season to sign a 44 yr old kicker on his farewell tour.

Sorry buddy. Being a Chiefs fan is no reason to deny the facts. Croyle made some sorry decisions last year. Yes, the O-line was horrible, but he's the one that made the bone-headed decisions not the O-line. I am very surprised we weren't picked in that five considering before the draft, all the experts were saying that QB was one of our biggest areas of need.

We don't have a REAL starting QB. I do agree that Croyle is at least one step up from Russell, probably more like 3 or 4.  But I would've liked to see us try to pick up somebody in the off season.
