Now that Hanley Ramirez has signed a long term contract, who should be next if the Marlins do as we all hope, and secure more players for the future? The main players that come to mind for me are Scott Olsen, Mike Jacobs, Dan Uggla, and Josh Willingham, if he can stay healthy. The way I see it right now, Olsen, and Jacobs are a couple must have players, but we'll have to see as the season progresses. Thoughts?

This is a topic me and my fellow season-ticket holder friends were talking about last night at the game.

One would think that Scott Olsen, Mike Jacobs, Dan Uggla, Josh Willingham and Jeremy Hermida are atop this list... Injuries and inconsistencies have surronded the latter names which I think is the reason or the wait in signing these guys. I think the team is giving them the rest of the season to see where they are at and then decide who is the next guy in line to follow Hanley Ramirez with a long-term contract.

None of those guys are spanish and since the Marlins only market to the spanish community they wont sign any of those guys long term. They'll sign the two Mexicans to long term contracts so we can have a bunch of Mexicans waving the Mexican flag at the games like everybody waved whatever flag Miguel Caberara was from. Mitre will be next after Cantu and Alfreado. Maybe if they are smart they'd lock up Pinto too, at least he is good.
