Girardi misinterpreted yesterday as meaningless. Every game is big. He felt content with taking 2 games at Shea, so he puts out an awful lineup with no strong hitters after the cleanup spot. Ok, fine, I will give Wilson Betemit some credit, he's a solid hitter. But why did Giambi, Cano, and Abreu all get benched? Just because we are facing a left hander doesn't mean the lefties are unable to hit! Furthermore, the lefty in question has dominated us in the past, so naturally we would want to send out our best lineup in an attempt to combat that pitcher. He has done this before this season. Late September when the Yankees have already locked up a playoff spot is a time for games like this. Not mid-season when the Yankees are 5 games out of first place!!
