With today's loss in Arizona, the Tigers now have the poorest record in the American League, 17-24 for a .386 winning pct.  Seattle is next poorest at 18-27 for a .400 winning pct. .  The brighter side is that the team is only 6 1/2 out of first in the division.

Back in April I posted a poll with the choices being  Panic or Patience.  The vote was 59% for Patience and 41% for Panic......  I just thought it would be interesting to test opinions again.

It's too early for panic, but too late for patience. Some changes need to be made and soon. The starting rotation has been a nightmare. Galarraga has given us some good outings, but even his walk totals are rising. I'm hoping the quality starts from the last week are a sign of what's to come. The every day lineup isn't performing in the field or with the bat. Any changes need to start with Sheffield on the DL. I don't care what his salary is, he doesn't get back on the roster til he proves his shoulder is healthy.

The Tigers likely arent going to make the playoffs, they dont have the pitching or the defense to do it. But in the crazy mixed-ed world of the A.L. Central Division, anything is possible and no team is out of it. 6.5 games out of the lead isnt much but the Tigers will need someone to carry them.  They are on a losing streak right now and can play better than they have. They just played the Diamondbacks, the best team in baseball that no one has heard of.  A lot of good things can still happen.  They need to find out what they have with Verlander and Bondy, will they be the future of the Tigers pitching or not?
