I hope the Bravo's enjoy their day off and get some rest for the upcoming gauntlet that they will be facing.  28 straight games (thanks to the rainout in coors).  A tough bunch of games as well:

4 vs the Mets beginning with the double header on Tuesday.
4 vs Arizona possibly the best team in baseball
3 vs a struggling Milwaukee club that none the less has some great offensive talent.
3 vs Cincinatti (hopefully another sweep)
4 vs Florida one of the 3 teams playing over .600 ball this year
3 vs Philly at home - hopefully we miss Hamels
1 vs Colorado - gotta love those side trips.
3 vs Chicago - one of the best offenses in the league.
3 vs Angels - then finally a road off day.

Grueling, but we do have 2 makeup games in there, so it really wasn't the schedulers fault other than setting teams up to play in Colorado in April.  Seriously they should be required to have some sort of retractable roof, or put up with playing the first 3 weeks on the road.  But then you'd have to do the same for the Yankees, Indians, Boston, etc. I guess.

If we can pull off 14-14 over this stretch of games I will be happy.  I know that perhaps seems like a low standard, but that would be playing .500 ball verses the best competition we will have to face in the harshest schedule we have to play in (28 games in 27 days 6 cities - 6 plane rides).  Anything over 14 wins is gravy and would be very nice.  I'm going to predict 2-2 vs mets, 2-2 vs Ariz, 1-3 vs Mil, 3-0 vs Cin, 3-1 vs Fla, 2-1 vs Phil, 1-0 vs Rockies, 1-2 vs Chi, 2-1 vs LAA for  a 17-11 record on this stretch.  Hopefully its not just the Homer in me rearing its ugly head again ;-)

Lets start it off with a double header sweep on Tuesday!

Go Braves '08!!!

Man what a killer stretch of games!!!

I agree that a 14-14 record would be O.K. with these teams but the Arizona games are gonna be tough.Really aren't any games to regroup with if the Braves hit a down trend .

I would say theCincy is the team we have the best chance of sweeping with the Rockies a close second.

Man I love XM Radio at work!!! Always fun to listen to the games in the afternoon which means I won't miss any of the doubleheader tomorrow : ).

Ok, going to revisit this to see how we are doing in this run.  First, I was wrong!  We played 28 games in 28 days not 27 days - the coors game was last night, and not on the 9th as I first thought.  Anyway, I had said in my post that it would be great to go 14-14 in that stretch - how did we actually do?

Previous Predicion - actual

Mets 2-2  4-0 *great start!!!!
Ariz 2-2  2-2  * we're still 2 games ahead
Mil 1-3  (meant 1-2) 1-2
Cin 3-0  0-3  *this kills us!!!!
Fla 3-1  3-1
Phi 2-1 0-3 *wonder what happens if Johnson catches that ball??
Chi 1-2 0-3
Ana 2-1 2-1
Rox 1-0 1-0

We finished 13-15 for this stretch of games so only 1 game under my 14-14 wish.  And with a catch by Kelly Johnson we are at 14-14.

Anyway, this is a tough stretch for the Bravos which is just going to continue with 3 vs tex 3 vs sea and 3 vs mil coming up.  Hopefully we can pull off 2 more road wins vs texas and then go 4-2 in the home games.  That should put us a few games above .500 and in the race.

Go Braves '08!!!

Interesting post. The Braves can't afford any more sweeps. Makes it not look too bad but if you start after the Mets/Ariz series it gets a little uglier. Thought they were getting it going after that Mets series. They really need a hot streak, an 8 out of 10 stretch. Hopefully, they can pull it off when they get back to home sweet home.
