Wright McDonald Holly will be the main three next year.

One of our undrafted free agents will have to step up or we will sign a veteran who can't quite cut it anymore to be #4.

I don't think we can afford to give up anything to get a cornerback.  I think the philosophy is that if the defensive line can keep the blockers off the linebackers, the linebackers can get pressure and make plays.  If the QB is pressured, he'll make bad throws which can make most competent defensive backfields look spectacular.  Look no farther than the NYG.  They did not have a very good defensive backfield but when their defensive line was playing well, they held the Patriots to only 14 pts.  I'm hoping Corey Williams and Shaun Rogers are what it takes to cover the inexperience the defensive backfield will contain.

Phil could have made trades/deals prior to the draft to get and experienced CB like Lito Sheppard, DeAngelo Hall, Fabian Washington, etc, but he didn’t do it. IMO Phil didn’t have to throw Bodden into the deal to get Rogers, if he wanted to keep him.  He could have easily cemented the deal with either a different player or kicked in a 5 th or 6 th round pick in the past draft. Using the same logic Phil used for Rogers and Williams, Bodden is better than a low round pick.  I guess, Phil saw something coming with Bodden’s situation. Also I gotta think he doesn’t feel desperate at CB or he would have “reached” in the draft. In looking over the roster, I’m not sure there’s anyone out there willing to trade an ace CB for whatever the Browns can spare. Consequently the Browns will go with the guys they have now unless someone cuts a more highly rated CB.

You guys all know that the improvment of the D-Line makes the corners better.

I say, keep who we got, they are hungry to be good.  Let's throw them to the fire.

correct me if i am wrong , but the second round of cuts come June 1st , maybe a team needing some space will cut a veteran corner at that time . i agree wit everyone that our improved D-line should help out a young secondary. wright ,MacDonald and holly have experience . we cannot afford to trade any more draft picks . lets just go with what we have .

I agree with Geno

As of right now, I don't think there is any player worthy out there for us to get rid of anything we have.  We don't want to get rid of anymore draft picks either.  Something might be done closer to the season but I doubt anything is imminent.  Savage likes the top 3, shoot, I like the top 3 if we can have a consistent pass rush to help them out.

I'd say just wait and see which veteran corner is cut.  I'm sure theirs going to be a high priced veteran corner cut.  This should be the time for the Browns to strike.  I know it doesn't leave much time for the player to get acklemented with the team but I think its the Browns best shot at getting a good corner without giving up to much in the process.
