Yes I have seen those and the little bit I have seen him play he reminds me a lot of Reggie's style. I can really see them working with Pierre and getting him up to speed with the offense. He could definitely be an asset to this offense if he can get up to speed quickly.

Granted many of the things he did was against D3 talent but here are some pretty good returns too.  Maybe if the Colts can get Garcon up and running as a returner, they won't need Rushing.  They may give him a year to learn though.

Bethea was a 6th round pick and everyone passed on him because of the level he played against in college??  That seem to work out ok for us!!  I can't wait till August to find out!!

According to Polian, they're not going to use him for returns:

Although Garcon returned punts and kicks in college, Polian said that likely won’t be his role early. Rather, he will learn the Colts’ offense and work to make the significant step from a lower level of college football to the sport’s highest level.

4.37 in the 40, a 36.5" vertical, and that one-handed grab have nothing to do with the level of competetion he played against in college.  The only beef against him that I've read is he's not great at running routes, but now he's got Marvin and Reggie to teach him.  It wouldn't surprise me to see him on the practice squad for a season to aid with the jump to this level.  With hands and athleticism like that, teach him to run routes and let Peyton get comfortable with him, then watch out.  That should just about coincide with Marvin's retirement.  Plus, we still don't know what we have in Hall and Aromashodu.  They beefed up the O-line and have WR's, TE's and RB's coming out of their ears.  As long as the D stays reasonably solid, I don't see any window of opportunity closing.  As a matter of fact, I don't see any decline in this offense at any time during the next 3 years.

Hey Speed whats up?

Well Polian did say that "likely won't be his role early."  Key words there are "likely" and "early."  I read the same comments myself.  The Colts don't usually start rookies at returner or corner that much so I don't think they will use him there right away which is why I said it may not occur in his first season but I wouldn't be surprised to be seeing him returning kicks at some point if he isn't put on the practice squad.

You are correct about the physical skills of Garcon and I respect those skills which is why the pick is a good pick but he looked like a man amongst boys in D3 from what I have seen and heard.  I am just saying that he won't be able to dominate NFL caliber talent as easy that.  He is raw too as you mention.  I much like you wouldn't be surprised to see him on the practice squad to improve his route running and he needs to be switched on to that to play with Peyton at receiver.  So they might let him concentrate on that to start but returning kicks isn't exactly rocket science so if the unlikely becomes likely and he impresses he may take that job from Rushing at some point whether it is after camp or midway through the year or next season who knows?

I don't see him making a major impact at receiver though as a rookie unless he is a very quick learner and makes big time strides in camp on his route running.  At most, he would probably be last option at receiver as a rookie if he isn't on the practice squad.

Jim saw exactly what i saw. Pierre Garcon looked like the best kid out on a playground in those film clips. He was impressive but didn't look polished at all. Garcon in my opinion is headed for the practice squad. The Colts will keep 5 receivers on the team and unless Pierre replaces the 5th DB, T.J. Rushing as the return specialist, there is no roster spot for him. With Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Anthony Gonzalez, Roy Hall and Devin Aromashodu already part of the system, Garzon would have to blow away the coaches this summer. NOT HAPPENING!

I think he would be a good kick returner with his speed.

Well that all depends on how good Garcon is as a returner.  If they don't let him do that as Dungy is indicating than you are right it is not happening.  I would like to see the Colts give him or one of the other rookies a chance to beat out Rushing.  If Rushing is the best of the lot then give him the job but lets have some healthy competition for the job.  I see returner as a position that could be improved upon.

The Colts currently reserve a roster spot for a returner with Rushing as that is all he is and I don't believe I have hardly ever s
