I posted on Plain Dealer Forum last year about our MOY sticking with guys like Trot Nixon, and now he is in love with Dave Dellucci.  In the last 14 days, Dellucci is batting a whopping .142 and has only 1 XBH, AND is only 3 for 13 w/RISP.  I say keep Francisco up until he falters, but I think he won't.  What about Griffey coming to Cleveland?  What about Atkins coming to Cleveland--just rumors, but Atkins would be worth it because Blake could replace Dellucci's stagnant bat.  I would give Shoo every chance to prove himself in the mean time--we can't do much worse!!

Dellucci has not been great, but no one has. And I'm not sure that they are prepared to take the salary hit they would to get rid of him. Remember: Looch is here for 2009 as well, and we already had to take a hit getting rid of Jason Michaels. The three-year deal for Dellucci is one of the worst moves Shapiro has made during his time.

With that said, I think they'll figure out how to keep Francisco around, even when Choo returns. That will probably mean keeping five outfielders, for the short-term at least.

I heard those rumors about Atkins last night, and was very excited and intrigued. Look at his number: .344, 7 home runs, 28 RBI, .533 slugging, .368 OBP, solid 3B, 28 years old, and he plays everyday. Rumor is Colorado might consider trading him, and they have connections to Cleveland (I beliebe their GM used to work under John Hart). What do people feel about this? Package Marte and either Sowers/Laffey for him? Maybe Barfield if we had to. I'd hate to get rid of Laffey, but this guy could be a staple in our lineup for years. Blake could either move into the crowded outfield or become the super-utility guy that he should be. Any thoughts?
