No robray, you have no knowledge of anything outside of Chicago. And a bad defense DOES have something to do with an ERA and WHIP. Say you have 2 extremely slow, bad throwing, outfielders with arms weaker than your grandma. Balls that could be caught by quicker defenders are going to drop in front of them for a double, or a triple if it's Adam Dunn. Or Ken Griffey Jr. Or Corey Patterson.

And yes, pitching at Wrigley IS better than pitching at Great American Small Park. The only field in the NL worse than GASP is Citizens Bank Park in Philly.

"You can have the best defense ever and still have an ERA over 10, a WHIP over 2, and 0 strikeouts.  Same goes for the bullpen.  The bullpen doesn't decide your ERA, WHIP, and strikeouts.  Think before you start running your mouth.  You don't know what you're talking about, and have no knowledge of the game"

first i'd like to say that arguing between zambrano and harang is like debating between the backstreet boys and nsync, it just doesn't resonate for me.

that being said evidently robray is the pot calling the kettle black.  defense has no effect on strikeouts but if you think for a moment that a great defensive team can't affect any pithcers era or whip then you are the one that would have no knowledge of the game of baseball.  all it takes is one great defensive play to get an out that would otherwise be a hit.  after that the pitcher may be out of the inning as opposed to who knows what might happen.  how many future hits and runs did ozzie smith (for example) prevent in his career?  it's a rhetorical question but think about it.

i don't mean to be harsh but talk about not knowing what someone is talking about....

yes...very important stats......I have another which is better...........

which is better......the team the won the division last year and is leading (and will most likely win the division this year).....OR the team that finished 5th place last year and will either finish 5th or 6th in the worst division in baseball this year........

the Harang-u-tang is a good pitcher who makes all his starts(underrated) who had his best year last year.........Zambrano had his WORST year last year and has been clearly better than Harang EVERY other year (including this year)

no one in their right mind would EVER take Harang over Zambrano...

plus, the rest of your team is garbage.....its a bad team....
