Over half of them don't know any baseball history
That has absolutely nothing to do with them being a fan now. Passion doesn't necessarily require knowledge and history.
Most long-time fans will be knowledgable of history, especially from when they started following their team and baseball, but still, not knowing history has ZERO to do with being a "real" fan.
In my opinion, "real" fans don't question other people's loyalty and fanaticism. Baller, you say that Killaz, Indyjim, and Silversword only bash Red Sox fans, well, you're bashing Yankees fans here, basing your story on a select hanful of fans and using knowledge of history as an irregardless backing for being a "real" fan. You jumped down another Red Sox fans throat once over something stupid and immediately, unprovoked, questioned his Red Sox fan status.
Question. I kid is taken to his first ballgame and has no clue what's going on, but because of his family being strong passionate fans of the game, he cheers for them without knowing what's really going on, and certainly no history. Is he/she not a "real" fan?
