Lol, Red Sox fans are the amazing ones. I see them ripping Yankee fans for bringing up their old World Series titles and now theyre criitisized for not knowing their history. Which is it?

One thing I do know---Red Sox fans are more infatuated with the Yankees than any other fan base for an opponent. Look around these boards--covered with Sox fans who do nothing but discuss the Yankees.

I think all fanbases are going to have their fans that spend more time trashing rivals than paying attention to their own team, as well as a bunch of bandwagon fans that jump onboard following some success. But every fanbase also has lots of loyal fans that follow the team through thick and thin. Just generalizing that Yankees fans are "bandwagon" or that Red Sox fans are bigger haters than they are fans isn't right.

Me- Ya, Jeter is overrated, His range in the field is atrocious.

You know I think it's one thing to bash a team like the Yankees, trust me I'm an avid Yankee hater, but I still think some of their players are good.  Jeter just happens to be one of them.  The question of if you had to choose one player to get a hit with two-outs in the seventh game of the world series in the bottem of the ninth to tie or win the game, there is only two players I would want up to bat David Ortiz or Derek Jeter.

And there are people like me who make up goofy names so no one can figure out which team they like. All so they can spew poo and rile everyone else up.

Bandwagoner since 1956.

Go Yankees!  HH

I had a flattop in elementary school which I modeled on the hairstyle of Yankee's shortstop Alvaro Espinoza.  Pat Kelly actually reaching base was the highlight of many of my early Yankee games.  And then there were the days when Danny Tartabull was out "superstar"...

This thread lost all credibility when it claimed that Mets fans were the knowledgeable New York baseball fans.

I don't respect people who only cheer for winning teams

Then you must hate yourself, considering that you're nothing but a bandwagon jumping Red Sox fan who probably wouldn't know who Jimmie Foxx is without Googleing the name.

OK baller, your such a historian, who hit the Parting shot? What was luis Tiants nickname? What was Yastremski's rookie year and were did he come from? Who did Joe Morgan take over for at manager after the Allstar break? Where did the Red Sox play before fenway?  Thats what I thought!! Now, without looking the questions up on the net, try and answer those!  Not all Yankee fans are unsure of our history which is 20 times more storied than the sox!

Or that the Athletics played somewhere before Kansas City, or where the NL team from Boston played.

I bet he never heard of Mel Parnell until Jon Lester threw his no-no. Nice job by Lester, by the way. He's been through a lot and deserves the applause.

Go Yankees!  HH
