I applaude Kevin Harvick for what he is doing.  Everyone needs to step it up and drug test these guys all the time.  These guys are racing cars close to 200 mph and take their lives in their hands as well as the other 42 drivers.  They don't deserve to have a person in the race that is high and risks their lives unnecessarily.  They should be clean and not have to worry about the other drivers being clean as well.  Good job Kevin.........maybe you will be the first in a trend of tougher testing and not the loan owner out on a limb.

I totally agree with Irish73! Kevin Harvick shows moxie in being willing to be at the forefront of something that is so potentially controversial as manditory drug-testing. If someone objects to drug testing, what are they hiding? This is no longer a matter of personal rights, because the safety of other drivers, as well as fans is at stake. I think fans should get behind Harvick's actions of being honest in what drivers ingest. Banning for life would be a deterrent to most rational, thinking drivers. Taking away a priviledge such as driving a race car for a living, would be a strong reason to act in an intelligent, responsible manner.

Couldn't agree more.  To most of these guys driving a race car in their reason for living. Ban them for life for drug abuse would be a huge deterent I think.  The days of turning a blind eyes as long as an athlete perfoms well (IE: Lawrence Taylor and Michael Irvin)have got to be over.  Too much risk and too much at stake.
