Aside from that one loss due to a BS call in an extremely hostile environment against a top 10 team, the rest is eerily similar.

PS....you guys went 13-0, unless that season you were so good that you got to play in someone else's conference championship. So you had one less win for our one more loss.

Wait...let me reword that....

You weren't 14-0, unless you went blah blah blah....

So we both had 13 wins, we just lost to a top 10 team at their house after a BS fumble call in the red zone.

14-0.  I forget how they got that extra game but they did (kickoff classic rings a bell).  Look it up for yourself.  So 14-0 with no losses with one of the nations toughest schedule.  All the BCS champs have been very good.  There is some extra special about going undefeated IMO which gives the 2002 OSU the edge over the 2006 UF squad and the 2003 LSU squad - though not by much.  BTW, if we're going to use the SEC argument, the Big 10 was the best conference in 2002.  You could check for yourself if you don't believe me.

Wait again.....am I seeing this right? Did OSU really play 14 games that season?

How did it manage that when the NCAA wasn't allowing 12 regular season games yet, and they had no conference championship?

I need a nap.

Pigskin Classic with Texas Tech....

Also 12 regular season games? I thought the NCAA only started allowing that in 2006.

I believe you about the Big 10 being better in 2002. I don't need to see it in print. It'll just make me sick.

yes 14-0... if you notice my list I have everyone that lost a game or 2 towards the bottom because as like Genie, somehting special about going undefeated.  Great post bookdawg about OSU just not losing that year.  They certainly werent the best team out of these guys but man they just found a way to win.  I even think the 2005 and 2006 Buckeyes were better talented than that team but man... easily the most exciting football season ever for me and I would say most buckeye fans.  I had to put Texas above USC because USC had a real similar team in 2005... that was the deciding factor between those teams.  Speaking of Auburn, I would say IMO top 6... to go through the SEC undefeated tough tough thing to do
