I'm a big Raiders fan and I'm planning on going to see them when to play in Buffalo on Sept. 21. I've heard mixed things about the home crowd when it comes to visiting team fans.

Let me know what I should expect (other than a good game)

I'd stay home.  I'm a season ticket holder and quite frankly our fans are embarrassing.  The security is a joke and they have a motto that it's easier to throw you out then the entire section.  What this means for you is if you even think about wearing Black and Silver your going to get booed, shit thrown at you and probably kicked out when some drunk A hole starts with you.  I've actually moved my seats out of the end zone in hopes of ridding myself of my own fellow fans.  Buffalo Bills fans are classless individuals and it is sad that these drunk idiots put on the embarrassing display that they do.  I've been to Miami, SD, Kansas City and I've NEVER had a problem.  The fans welcomed us, gave us a joking hard time, but nothing serious so when I come to our own home games and see some guy 10 beers in throwing something at a guy cheering on his own team it makes me ashamed to be a fan of the team.  Enjoy the game, just keep the black and silver and cheering for that matter to a minimum if you want to see the entire game.

I took one of my closest friends... a *Dolphis* fan, no less, to a game in December of 1997. Drinks were happening, she got booed left and right, but nothing dangerous ever occurred. I've not been since I had children (2001), but I suspect as long as you're not taking little ones, you'll be fine. And I didn't exactly have good seats - I was in the usual nosebleeds my sorry grad student butt could afford.

I would be concerned if I were taking small children and wore, pardon the expression during this time of war, 'enemy colors'.  A few drunk idiots might say something you have to explain to li'l Miller_Time. On the whole, and I have attended games since 1981 (I was 7), my experiences have been pretty good. I suspect negativity you might receive will have more to do with how well the Bills are playing than it has to do with your Silver and Black. Unless Al Davis says something stupid about Buffalo in the weeks preceding the game. ;-)

well let me start out by saying that you will be booed to death.  dont be surprised if a group of Bills fans surround you and insult you on your way into the stadium.  however when i have been to the games i love the fans.  i have been really lucky and always sat with great people.  everyone was throwin around high 5s and dancing together.  i was at the Cowboys game and the crowd was as crazy as ever.  however the fans showed respect for the cowboys fans around me and were generally polite.  there will be the drunk jerks and the guys who came to pick a fight.  hell some people are so drunk before the game that they dont know whos playing anymore.  but trust me its my favorite place in the world and you will enjoy it!  cheers!

Ah a Raiders fan .....

Your treatment will depend entirely on where you sit in the stadium.

End zone, in some areas = drunken "juveniles"  = bad treatement of visitors.

Sidelines = adults = a few humorous digs and mostly friendly interaction.
