Wow, good win guys...I even have to tip my hat(e) :) to that one!

It makes me happy, yet sad that Edmonds did what he did.  I want him to do well, but I still want you to lose.

What a conundrum ?

you arent the only one who has had mixed feeling about Jim Edmonds.  most Cubs fans werent too pumped about bringing in a guy that was arguably the face of the Cardinals for a decade to roam center in wrigley.  however, i am so glad he had a good game yesterday.  i just hate to see good players go out poorly.  we all remember the end of steve carlton's career.  the cubs and the cards are the two best teams in the NL.  maybe the central isnt as weak as everyone has said it was?

Yeah, why DO people always say the NL Central is week?  The last 5 yrs haven't the Cardinals (2 WS appearances), Astros (1WS appearance) and the Cubs (NL Championship series) all advanced pretty far?  Last year nonwithstanding of course....

Now the Cubs have the best record in MLB with the Cards one game behind (in the Win column of course)

People do the same thing to the Big 10 and I can't stand that either.

Thanks classy post In The STL. It's always a good thing for baseball and fans when both the Cubs and Cardinals are going good. Here's to a fun summer, but hopefully the summer is where it stops for you guys. We as fans have Fall on our minds.lol

That is because most people think the NL is inferior to the AL. And I hate to say this being a Cubs fan but I think since the Cubs havent won a WS in such a long time and being in the NL Central is why they say that.

But if anyone that follows baseball and knows baseball knows the NL Central is far from the weakest division. All one has to do is look at who has been in the WS for the NL the last several years.

I just wanted to add even though I am a Cubs fan I loved it when the Cards beat the Tigers. Basically cause all I heard leading up to the series was it didnt matter which team the Mets or the Cards won the NL championship. Neither team was going to stand a chance against the mighty AL Tigers.

who cares what people say? i live in toronto and all i hear is that we are in the best division by far, and maybe this season we are, but i still think the Cubs will come this year and sweep the jays, as well as the o's and probably put up a good stand against the Rays. as for the cards, i don't know who they play, but i hope they lose lol. i also think that people say we have the weakest division because going into the season and even at the beginning people were saying that the cards would never compete, and they've prooved that wrong. the Astros were picked near the bottom and pitt and cinci were supposed to be in the basement of the entire major leagues. as for the brew crew i never doubted theyd struggle this season with their demoralizing defeat for the central last year, especially with a young squad. my point is, we may have been considered a weak division at the beginning, but i don't think that after 55 games that remains the consensus in the baseball world. just my 2 cents.

Yeah, the NL Central is pretty nasty this year, I think it is the best division in baseball this year.  If the Cardinals have good consistent starting pitching and the Astros get it too this is gonna be a fun race to watch.  Personally, i cannot see any team keeping with the Cus this year.

We just have too many good pieces on this team.  The batting order 1-7 or all close to batting .300 and each one of them has power besides Theriot.  You have a possible Cy Young pitcher anchoring your staff.  The best bullpen in the majors, I just don't see anyone beating the Cubs this season record wise.  Playoffs are a different story.
