The offer was 1 game in BR for 2008 followed by 5 games in Houston TX. LSU wanted an opponent in Houston because they recruit that area heavily and have a large fan base there. Houston was not attractive to TT so the negotiations fell through. I can assure you that fear was not part of the equation.  Too bad, because it appeared to be an attractive match up.

WELL if that was the case, then there has been some bad reporting up here, becuase a "5 game" deal in Houston was not ever meantion in our reports trhough our media outlets.....

I know that Dallas has been trying to get TT to come to the Cotton Bowl for years.... they failed on moving the TAMU game there, and Texas Tech said they would not move a rival away.....

I know they Offered LSU the Dallas contract, and they declined.... i mean I did hear Tech offeren to go to Dallas, and LSU said "No".....

I also was told by a Tech sports writer that the big deal was that "no trip to Lubbock was offered by LSU"...... now there may have been a "5 year deal", but i understood the ORGINAL AGREEMENT to be @ LSU in 2008 and @ TTU in 2010......

I have no doubt that a 5 year deal could have been laid out to entice the Raiders.... but the FACT remains that LSU Refused to come to Lubbock, and that was "why" the Red Raiders did not sign the deal, and LSU refused to play anywhere but Houston....

"LSU has a big fan base in Houston".... EXACTLY.... that would not be a "home" game for Tech... where does Tech win in this offer???? They get no home game for 6 years..... and travel 13 hours away every time.........

LSU still REFUSED to come to TTU..... not even once to get there precious games in Houston.....

Who --

Here we go again with typical Who SEC homerism...

In SEC Conference

Record 20-6

Winning 76.92%

Ave score 29.50 to 19.54 (rounded 30 to 20)

Ave margin of Victory 9.96 points (rounded 10 points)

-- Of course, if I produce USCs #s, you say the Pac 10 is weak.

Out of Conference (this part is sweet) plus 1 NC & 2 Bowl wins

Record 14-0

Winning 100%

Ave Score 42.50 to 8.57 (rounded 42-9)

Ave Margin of Victory 33.93 points (rounded 34 points)

-- Guess how many road games Mr. Les Miles played for OOC... 2!! vs ASU and Tulane. Are you kidding me?

- -You also lost to #8 Iowa in Miles first bowl game.

- -You played at ASU and won by 5 points... this was supposed to be a home game but Katrina pushed it to ASU.

-- Go back to Saban and you lost at Va Tech. The only other ranked team you played on the road was ASU,=[

MIsc Notes

Every teams has rent a wins however LSU has played 6 BCS schools OOC, some you may have heard of. The BCS schools are OSU, VT.... ND, Zona ......ASU UM. Two each per year

-- So, now ASU and Zona are BCS school OOC games. But, when USC beats Arkansas and Auburn... you claim they are just average SEC teams. You are incredible my friend...

Here is a real team's OOC ... USC since Pete Carroll (I am just going to show you our road games)

@14 Colorado, @6 KSU, @Va Tech, @9 Notre Dame (ranked numerous times, @14 Nebraska, @ Auburn, @ Arkansas

Come on 2007 LSU Tigers... show that you are not Paper Tigers. Play TT.

#2 LSU (twice), #13 Purdue (twice), #16 Utah, #21 Wisconsin... are you kidding me? And little ole LSU cannot play TT?

All I can say is Ohio State at USC. Now that takes balls and this is coming form a Michigan fan. I saw the sissy eastern conference OOC schedule for 2008 and I must say. COWARDS. Only Alabama and Florida have any balls. The rest of the SEC heavyweights are just dispicable. Just like the Bear used to do. Duck everybody.
