Nabby got a raw deal!

Nabby got robbed tonight! Come on now, this is a joke! Nabby should have won hands down. He had a career year this year. It's very sad that the Sharks don't get the credit they deserve because they play on the West Coast.

Wow I guess the best guy doesn't always win. Maybe Tim Donaghy was on the panel representing the Devils.

Nabby we all know you should have won!

 I can;t believe it!

 Brodeur stood at the microphone and actually believed he had a better year than Nabokov. He and the NHL need to look again at the numbers. There is no stat that I can see that would rank Nabby below 1st overall in the NHL, except for shutouts and Save percentage. And both those stats are reflective of the defense around you and can be mis-leading. If you don't see a lot of shots because your defense is doing a good job and only the higher quality attempts are making it through to the goal, then your average is going to suffer. Shutouts are nice, but over-rated. They too are a reflection of your defense but don't deminish the fact that a win is a win, no matter how many goals the other team scored. Oh! And if I remember correctly, Nabokov had more wins than any other goalie in the NHL.

C'mon this isn't baseball, where you reward the older players bacuase at their age they did well, instead of paying the proper recognition to the outstanding achievements of the best players in the NHL.

And we all no who has the best goalie! The San Jose Sharks.

Yeah, the Western Teams of the Western Conference always get shafted; the only nice thing is that ultimately calgary and Vancouver fall into the abyss with us - of course, being part of the original six, Detroit and Chicago are exempt.  I thought that with the last few Shark seasons and making the playoffs most of our existance and Thornton and Cheechoo's awards that they'd have to at least pay a little more attention; if not to the entire Western Conference, which they should, at least to our beloved Sharks!  Unfortuantely this total snub proves that even though the West is, by far, the better, most competative conference and having two consecutive cup wins, the West is still "second best".  There is really no valid reason as to why Nabby didn't win.  It seems to be a blessing and a curse playing in SJ; we aren't under the microscope as much, but we don't get the recognition we deserve; no matter how good we are we're still not an Eastern Conference team...looks like Nabby will just have to keep being his bad @$$ self and do his thing between the pipes and the Sharks will have to win the cup (even then though, I feel there would be a lack of respect from the NHL powers that be - maybe if we win two back-to-back?)!

Go Team Teal!  Let's bring the Cup back to California (the good part this time)!
