NHL -- LEAGUE IN MASSIVE TROUBLE SOON

LMAO  I think this will be my last post on the thread I created.  Not because it's not a good thread but because instead of people quoting me or responding to what I SAY,, they make things up.... and then you wonder why I come off as patronizing?

To the person that posted saying that I was brushing off peoples opinions or ignoring, your wrong. It's called a discussion, a debate even, there is nothing wrong with disagreeing.  To blackandgold that said I was trying to put down the fans,  wrong again.  I was simply saying that any fan that thinks the nhl isn't going to be affected is being naive.. never said stupid, never insulted or put down anybody. 

"people would rather live in America"  you said.  Statements like that make it impossible not to respond negatively.  That statement is so outlandish, so ridiculous, so nuts, incredible is another word.  How can you or anybody else possibly say that ?  If a guy has a chance to make a million dollars more to play in Russian, he doesn't have children , nothing holding him down, then why wouldn't he?  You think Russia is a black hole?  Do you understand how russian and other countries treat their american athletes?  I know because I used to follow european basketball.   In a lot of cases they get free rent in nice housing, free leased cars, gas, meals.. AND MORE MONEY...

The Stars you are right, for the most part won't leave.  The leauge WILL NOT FOLD...  but a league already not the most  popular CAN'T BE HELPED BY COMPETITION...  in this case, competition IS NOT HEALTHY FOR THE NHL..

Somebody said just because the nhl is worth less that doesn't matter because the owners are rich.  The owners are not rich because of the nhl, they are rich IN SPITE OF the NHL .....  before the lockout, there were very few profitable teams.....  it's not rocket science.... numbers are numbers..

anyways, I'll let you guys go nuts with this post and thread,, as eminem says, I'm outtie. Debate is one thing but when I have to constantly respond to people that are making things up, taking things the wrong way , and ignoring key facts I type,  this gets old.

But before I go to make my point,  here's a question.  Go back into this thread and count the number of points ANYBODY found valid?  Before you say nothing is, re-read what I wrote.....  a discussion is give and take ,, debate,, not bullshit like this....

how to fix the problem:

first, we oust gary bettman.  the next time he steps on the ice for any type of ceremony, one player will be randomly chosen to knock him out.  then, we find a successor who actually pays attention to the league during the season. 

then, we cancel nhl tv.  it's not time for that.  sorry, just because the nfl has a tv station doesn't mean the nhl is ready.  the nfl is a monster and it's market is like a thousand times bigger than the nhl.  we need to work on the league first.  screw the rest right now.  i would sign another contract with nbc, but have them play some games in the beginning of the season.  one reason why hockey isn't doing so well is because there is no chance to watch it.  i would like to re enact a weekly hockey game on primetime much like hockey night in canada.  versus needs to be on basic satellite tv or the nhl needs to terminate the contract because that is horrible marketing.  i was amazed i even had versus when i got cable. 

another thing that needs to happen is possibly getting rid of some teams.  i think there are too many teams in the league.  there are many teams in financial trouble and it might be time to stop the bleeding.

i would also change the schedule some.  i'm a wings fan and i think it's stupid to play teams like the Blackhawks, Blues, and Blue Jackets 20 times a year....lol.  every team should see each other every year.  if it's just one game, that's fine, but everybody should play everybody at least once a year. 

i saw the salary cap went up.  wasn't that the problem before?  players getting too much money.  raising it $6.7 million?  at this rate, the salary cap will be $100 million in like 5 years.  what has that solved? 

as for the russian league, let them start a league. the way the nhl is right now, i wouldn't be surprised if the russian league just takes off.  and why shouldn't it?  the russians are awesome hockey players.  if they get more money playing in russia, go there and play.  we're treating the sport of hockey like crap.  let the players who are not on contract have that choice.  maybe we can come up with some type of russia/nhl championship.  that may help out the league some.
