Attention all Yankee fans... it is time to stop bashing what the Rays are doing and respect the fact that this team is for real.

Many of the yankee fans insist on berating Rays fans and they continue to claim that the Rays are going to implode any day now.  As of right now, the Rays are tied for the best record in all of Baseball.  Wake up Yankee fan, this team is for real and will be here for the long run.

The Rays have played some of the best teams in baseball and have proven that they are up to the challenge.  I am not saying that the Yankees suck, although being a Rays fan and a Red Sox fan I do have certain emotions towards the Yankees.  What I am saying is that it is time for the Yankee fans to stop irrationally bashing the Rays and start making mildly educated arguments against them.

Wait, You are a Rays and Red Sox fan? Sounds like you need to pick one or the other. You are so going to be that guy at the game tomorrow wearing the Boston jersey and the Rays hat right? I think you might want to consider stop telling Yankme fan what to do and take a look in the mirror because Boston has some of the most stuck up arrogant fans around. Boston fan thinks because they won 2 World Series in the past few years that they have the history like the Yankees. What Boston fans fail to remember is that they sucked for many many of years before too. Go Rays.

Wow!  The AL East is unbelievable.  The Orioles are officially the worst team in the division now that the Rays have proven that any team can be on top.  I think it's exciting to see the Rays up there.

TampaVulture, I agree with you that the Red Sox do have a lot of fans who are "stuck up and arrogant"; but these are the same fans who are drunk and jumped on the bandwagon a few years ago.  They are not part of "Red Sox Nation" as we like to say...they are not part of any nation, except "Drunk and Disorderly Nation".  We have 'em, and believe me, we don't acknowledge them as part of the charm of our team's history.

No, we do not have 26 championships...like the Yankees do.  I have never discussed our team as in the same category as the Yankee franchise or the Celtics or the Canadians for that matter.  But, what we do have is a history of solid, competitive teams that unfortunately (until '04) always found a way to lose in the end.

And what we have now is a brilliant young GM, an excellent communicator in Francona, an outstanding farm system (like you guys do), and a pretty solid fan base that pays big, stupid money to go to games in the "just under 40,000" fan ballpark known as Fenway.

I like the way the Rays have held onto their young stars and have built a foundation of success for years to come...congratulations, and good luck the rest of the way!  I thought before the year they were in for a .500 season, with the real success only a year or so away...I was wrong.  The Rays are looking at a chance to bid for a playoff berth this year, if their pitching holds up...as for the Yanks, that pitching staff is looking really rugged right now.  They, too, have the bats; but more importantly, if they are still in contention by the end of next month, they have the $$ to make a move...

I'm sorry I wouldn't call your GM brilliant.  I call him the GM who spends a ton of money and having some of it work out.  4 years and  36 mil with a club option for 9 mil on Julio Lugo is just brilliant.  5 years and 70mil for JD Drew who up until about a month ago would have trouble starting for the Royals.  He's not a bad GM but with a 133 mil dollar payroll the only team that can perform worse with that kind of jack is the Yankees who are te kings of stupid GM moves.

I am going with TamapVulture here... one or the other.  Tampa is becoming a hated rival of both teams.  As a Yankee fan I see the Tampa Rays not focusing on the Yankees, they are focusing on the Sox... World Series champs... AL East crown...  they want them.  Yes 26 World Series woo hoo!!! But not hanging my hat on that... the best team lately has been the Sox... more the the Yankees this decade.  And the Rays can put a stamp here and make a mark by winning their first after being in the cellar.  There is a new Joe in the AL EAST... and he is looking to bring the Rays a championship with NO PRESSURE...  I'm liking what I see out of this organization... I hope more Rays fans come out to see them.  Even though their attendance has gone up more then any other team its because other teams fans have come to see them.  They might have to be the NY Giants of this year... win on the Road... which they have done a "decent" job at best.  As a Yankee fan I'd love to see the Rays and Yankees make it... but for Baseball I want to see the Rays make it.... it would be great.
