Almost sixty million for Brian Campbell is an insane move for Chcago no matter how bad they needed blueline help, what are you gonna have to pay Toews and Kane now that you gave this almost 8 million a season. He's comparable to Brad Stuart  in terms of age, talent. and stats and the Red Wings gave him around three million a season. The Blackhawks never have and never will go anywhere.

You're wrong, the Wings have done a lot of things right, but sometimes you have to pay market value, and the Wings time is about to be up.  Kane and Toews deals won't be as bad  as you think because we will use the remaining years under contract to use as leverage.  Dale Tallon admitted he paid to much, but sometimes that's what you have to do.  Besides we are Chicago, not Detriot, we are a big market and can afford to overpay.  We were losers in the past because Old Man Wirtz sucked, but he's dead, and the kid isn't frugal.  Where this franchise has come in less than a year (since the Old Man died in October) is unreal, enjoy your cup, but it will be your last for a while.  You were 3-5 against us last year, and lucky we didn't make the playoffs and beat you.  Oh ya one last thing, good try but Campbell is way better than Stuart.

you need to learn a little more about hockey. You sound like an uninformed bandwagon jumper

Maybe you know little about hockey because growing up in the 80's and for the first half of the early 90's the Wings sucked donkey dick.  You were lucky to get a Yzerman because you sucked every year and had top picks.  There is an ebb and flow in sports, although we never won a cup we were right there every year for 10 years, meanwhile they were burning Hockeytown or moving out of that craphole or whatever people do there.  We are leaving the ebb and entering the flow, you are entering the ebb, have fun.

Wait one minute.  Soupy was going to be the answer in San Jose to get them to the promise land and they gave up a 1st for the shot.  I'm a Sabres fan and he is not going to push anyone over the top.  He is an offensive defenseman that is a liability in his own end.  He will add a ton to the PP but don't expect to see him on the ice on the PK.  I would love to have him back in Buffalo but not for any where near that money.  Early in his career when he was surounded by minimal talent, he pretty much sucked.  The last few years when he did well he was on two of the better teams in the NHL.  Hawks fans are going to hate this signing by mid year.

Bryan Campbell needs to have a solid stay at home d-man at his side.  I would love to see the Hawks make the playoffs, but Campbell is far from the long term answer they are looking for.
