Im sorry but i disagree with you . Of all the B's young talent, none of them show talent that they can be a 40 goal scorer.
Hossa is that. 40 goals and 40 assist. thats what the Bruins need to make them a contender. This year i dont see them finishing less then 2nd in the Division (not counting injuries) and top 6 in playoff standing. See alot of people discount the Bruins offense last year. They missed a player that gives you 60-80 points. Not to mention that he helps other players score.
Quietly the B's added a team, in fact they have too many players for the roster. Which isnt a bad thing, but had they not had Schaeffer and Fernandez, we would have Hossa right now. But thats okay because although we really only signed Wheeler and Ryder, its as if we got 2 new players as well; Bergeron and Manny.
Because they guys hardly played last year its as almost as if we got new players. So come October the "new" players we will have is Bergeron, Ryder, Manny and Wheeler. which if you break it down is at least a 70 point player, 30 goal scorer, #1 goaie, and a 5th over all pick. Thats not a bad offseason.
If i were to rate the top 3 teams that of this very moment that had the best offseason i would rate Tampa #1, Detroit #2 and Boston #3. Tampa's team looks stacked, Two number 1 overall picks, St.luis, mahlone, vrbata, roberts, the other 30 goal scorer (cant remember his name) but they are still weak on d and at goalie. Then Detroits teams over the last year has been so consistent and now they add hossa. and then the bruins for reason that are already listed.
But if you look at the B's after the "Joe" trade. We have slowly gotten better each year. We when from 5th draft pick (kessel), to a 500 team, to a team over 500, to a team that made the playoffs. I have to give credit to the GM hes making good moves. But we need Hossa, there not that many good free agents next year and we will have the money to give him.
