This is indeed a very bright day in the history of the National Basketball Association and all of professional sports, and more so, a great day for the City of Oklahoma CIty, Oklahoma.  As a citizen of an eastern suburb of that great city, I must say that I am extremely proud and extremely thankful to have my City among the professional sports cities.  Clay Bennett is a marvelous man and I wish my Oklahoma City (insert name here) all the best in their inaugural 2008-2009 year.  I will indeed be watching this season extremely closely.

As for the City of Seattle, Washington.  You guys are wonderful.  You supported this team for 41 great years and I do sincerely hope you get another team and I hope they exceed all the expectations given to them.  Plus, I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

I kind of wish we could have gotten our very own franchise and didn't have to take Seattle's team, but it is what it is.

The way the settlement looks, it will be like the Cleveland Browns moving to Baltimore, but leaving the name, history, logos, colors, etc. in Cleveland for the next edition of the Cleveland Browns.

Clay Bennett is a piece of crap liar. I do not blame him for moving the team, it's his, he can do what he wants, but he lied to our faces. I do blame Schultz for selling his "childhood dream team" to an OKC businessman and will contine to boycott Starbucks.

TO NW:

Don't be too excited. This feels like my wife ran off with my best friend. She will run off with yours too, if you get my drift.  Don't give loyalty to those that cannot return it. Easy come...easy go?

I just moved to the Seattle area in the last year, and I am not a Sonics fan, but after watching the Mayors press conference, I am furious. First of all, the city had the trial won. Mr. Liar Snake in the Grass would have been forced to keep the team in Seattle for another two years, losing millions in the process. Second, the city officials originally said it was never about the money, yet they did the one thing that they said they would never do.....settle.

All I can say is that I hope that every Sonic fan, and every interested bystander like me, do the right thing...and that is to vote for the other person. Sonic fans, do your research. Find out who your city, county, and state officials are that let this happen, and vote for the other guy. Kick these jerks out of office.

All that this process has told me is that Clay Bennett and his cronies are liars(proven with e-mails), the city officials are liars(they settled when they said it would never happen), and the NBA officials are a bunch of rubes.

this is not a bright day for the NBA, it is a very, very dark one.  don't get me wrong, i'm not saying you folks don't deserve a team, and i wish you all the best with it, but this whole situation is leaving a very bad taste.  what the league has said, by supporting this deal, is that 41 years of history, loyal fan support, don't mean a thing.  it's telling fans of all other struggling teams out there that no matter how long you've had your teams, they can and will be ripped away at the slightest notice.  the league has sided with the owners, over the fans.  RIP NBA.

Clay bennett did an awful thing, one that if a relative of mine did i would be embarrassed. Nothing against OKC, but Clay Bennett is a Donkey. Way to go NBA! Now at least everybody feels screwed, Except OKC, they get their team... at any cost.
