You are an idiot for not having UF in the top 20, let alone the top 25. Im so sick of the big east getting all of the attention for doing nothing. Every year the media bit#hes about how good the big east is, well when was the last time one of their teams did something? UF has just come off back to back NC's and have an 18-3 record with a 20+ point win over a top 15 team and are still not ranked? ND beats 23rd rank villinova by like 15 points and the gators dominate 14th ranked vany and ND is 17 and UF is not even in the top 25? Just keep kissing the big east's a$s until an SEC team makes the final four and they do not.

The Gators won't be ranked until they play some competition. Don't point to Vanderbilt and Ole Miss, because those teams hadn't faced any notable competition and are picking up losses now that conference play has started. The Gators schedule ranks somewhere behind at least 300 other D1 teams in difficulty. Until yall quit playing absolute cupcakes yall get what yall deserve.

Why does it even matter if we are ranked? It means nothing too be ranked as far as the NCAA tourny is concerned. We beat the heck out of a good team that had far more experience than us. I'd much rather cruise along under the radar. But SoCal is an idiot. Anyone who has been watching the Gators since conference season began can see that this team has improved immensely since the preconference schedule. If we can find a way to keep getting SEC wins, it won't matter if we are ranked. We will be in the tournament, and thats all that most people hoped for this Gator team.

The Gators should schedule Mercer next season. Apparently losing to Kansas and Memphis will boost your RPI enough to allow you to lose to Mercer and still be a top 25 team. Florida beat the 14th ranked team today by 22. They are playing well, and are 5 - 1 in SEC play. They will be ranked soon enough.

I don't take basketball rankings too seriously. Who cares if you're #1....#5....#25 or whatever. Just do enough to make it to the tournament. It's not like football where you have to be #1 or #2 to play for the championship.
Florida should make it in the tournament no problem, so just tear it up there

i dont want the gators ranked. we havent done anything other than extend our streak against kentucky. billy donovan doesnt want them ranked. they need to stay focused, keep believing they still have to push it. we were ranked 25th the weekend we played fsu. remember what happened? we lost. if we can leave the sec with like 7 losses i would be happy. its tough, but they showed some flashes of the old squad against vanderbilt. all the starters were in double digits scoring. good place to start.

I believe that the strength of schedule is what's holding Florida out of this top 25. Florida's schedule is ranked 185th which isn't very impressive.

Bad SOS or not, Florida probably ought to be in by now. They're the most-ignored 18-3 defending champ I ever remember.
That said, one of the worst things about this list is Michigan State at No. 6. Probably another SOS situation, because they've played UCLA (a loss) and Texas (a win) but so far their Big Ten slate hasn't been that impressive. Win over Purdue looks good and wins over Ohio State & Minnesota aren't bad ... loss to Iowa has apprently been forgotten. Top 20, certainly, top 10, maybe. But 6th? It won't hold up. They'll be a 4 seed come March.

FLA is playing much better ball than earlier in the year. They are a good team, but still have some room to improve. They are going to be a tough team come March!

Tressel...the fact that Florida lost its top 6 players makes it even more impressive what they're doing.

i agree, i'm sick of hearing about the big east. i've even tried to watch some of these big east games and they suck. they all look big and lazy and its like watching ten guys run through mud the whole game. and its the same every year, but the funny thing is that at the end of the year its always the sec or the acc left standing.

This entry just about says it all. The pundits will wait until the young Gators lose another game (whenever that may be) and think they are so smart. The bottom line will be in March Madness and we will see how much respect the Gators have then.

Why is that a stupid post? I realize they lost their entire core ... what I'm saying is that typically a high-profile team that just won back-to-backs and is 18-3 and gets left out of the Top 25 has to be pretty rare. I'm not saying they should get a Top 25 pass just because they won the title. It just seems strange that a program like Florida seems to be flying so far under the radar this late in the season.

Sorry that you have to knock the Big East because Florida isn't ranked. If you want to compare tournament records, in the past 10 tournaments both the SEC and the Big East have had 5 teams in the final 4 and each have had 4 national champions. Therfore, you might want to look elsewhere to find a reason you are not ranked and stop bashing the Big East!

Nobody cares about the big east anymore...that is a mute point. The big east is not even on the radar at this point...gone are the Glory days of the great Georgetown teams or even the UConns and Loisvilles of past. The SEC dominates premier college sports right now...that may change in a few years but National Championships speak louder than polls, RPIs, SOSs, potential draft picks, past records and all that other garbage. Winning isn't everything...it's the only thing

Listen this just proves also how much better Billy Donovan is as a coach than anyone else right now, he lost his 6 best players on a 2 time defending championship team and still has his team at 18-3, we will be a fource in March realistically though right now if we make the sweet sixteen it will probably be the best coaching job of the year, this team should barely make the tournament.
