The last time I checked Casteel was still with WVU!
Thanks for pointing that out Lambert! I just finished the article and was thinking the same thing. Brilliant minds really do think alike!
Of course, that's why Dodd puts out the drivel he does, he's not brilliant, it's questionable if he even has a mind, and if he does he certainly doesn't think with it
IMHO, no Lambert they will not be patient enough, and I personaly don't think they will allow him enough give, meaning he thought the WV boosters were tough wait til he has to deal with UM boosters. I love how they have this self confidence of being "the winningest program in college football" attitude and they still have it. It is funny to me considering in the BSC era how we are succeful and they are not. It is fact folks we are 2-0 while they are 1-3, just like the Luckeyes undeseverving and beatable . History does not mean anyhing. If ou win or lose when it counts is whats now and hip. We lost to ****burgh and lost the chance at a NC. e however bounced back and won, and to hell with all of you that said you called it (non-WVU fans) you are fooling no one. So to UM and your traditions you can have them, I like Morgantown bette anyhow. Yes I have benn to AA it is a dump. Just like you want to bas on M-Town can personally bash on AA.
Don Lamberto, I would also like to submit my new title of Cappo in the Charleston area and requested that a few soldiers be in my "crew" including, Slaton10, GoReds and, BlueJays.
Let's see, Rich Rodriguez is coming to a team that's coming off a year where it went 11-3? Yeah, I think Michigan fans can wait until November for a winner...again.
I just emailed Dodd and told him he needed to get his head out of the "rabbit hole" as Jeff Casteel STAYED at WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY. He really did his journalistic homework.
It is so funny to read the posts when a sports writer makes an error............or multiple errors! I agree that the Wolverines will win with RR, and I don't believe they will have to wait long. I'm a Spartan, even though it has been hard lately, but know that Michigan is going to at least co-rule the Big Ten. Their recruiting is still in the top 3 in the conference (led by Ohio State and Illinois). They also have a favorable schedule coming up. My prediction is number 2 in the Big Ten next year.....which supports Lambert Lunatic's prediction, "will Wolverines (fans) be patient enough to wait?" for RR to bring them back to the top of the Big Ten and into the National Spotlight again.
Lambert: "it took him a few years at WVU to establish the program..."
The difference is that he doesn't have to establish a program at Michigan; it's already there. The Wolverines looked more than capable of running the spread offense in racking up over 500 yards of offense against Florida, and as another poster (an MSU fan of all people!) pointed out, Michigan isn't exactly lacking for talent. Michigan has underachieved precisely because of coaching.
Granted, MI does have a transition to make next year on offense, but that was inevitable given the departures of Arrington, Manningham, Henne, Hart, and Long. Even if Mallett stuck around, there are new receiving targets, etc.
So, no matter who's coaching this year, the ceiling is below the national championship. But there are PLENTY of good runningbacks (Carlos Brown, Brandon Minor, and incoming speedster Sam McGuffie) who can operate in Rodriguez's system. And UM also returns good linebackers (sans Crable) and an excellent D-line.
UM will definitely be patient enough... the wait shouldn't be long.
My apologies, I forgot about Michigan's other conference loss, and also momentarily forgot that the Big Ten plays no conference title game. Wasn't referring to West Virginia's record at all.
And to the idiot who said "You were 9-4!", nice try, but we were actually 12-2, and the only reason for that was Oklahoma.
