First i saw on ESPN that if the Cardinals dont get Fitz a new deal they could deal him.
Then i went on the Az sites here. A lot have the same old. "cardinals wont trade fitz" they would rather pay him.
but
The Arizona Republic is reporting the Cardinals could be start entertaining the idea of trading Fitz in the coming weeks if a contract is not reached.
It also says Az doesnt have much interest in Lito. Lito has had injuries and also wants a new contract. They arnt willing to "take someone elses problems for a all-pro WR"
They talked about how the Eagles have offered Lito and Reggie Brown for Fitz. But say it would take more then that because of the lack of interest in Lito. Maybe Lito, Brown and a 1st round pick would have to go to Az to pull this off. Its a lot too trade. But Fitz, i see him every sunday here in Az. The guys great.
I donno if the Cards want a 1st round pick as well. Or even more. But they are going to want a lot. People here im hearing are laughing at the Eagles for offering only Lito and Brown.
But...point is Fitz i think will be shopped and im starting to think will be moved in the next week or two..
we will see.

no one here has said any offer of just brown and lito. The offers being thrown around philly are lito and a first, or reggie, lito and a third or so pick. reggie lito and a first will not happen.

People in Arizona can sit there and laugh until they are blue in the face. The fact is, the Cardinals signed a check to Larry Fitzgerald that the checking account can't cash. Every team in the NFL knows this and when it comes time to trade him, they aren't going to get an even trade. When you have to unload your problems because YOU messed up, other teams aren't going to say, "oh wow its larry fitz, let's give them 3 first round picks!". They will have to take a loss due to their own stupidity. The only thing they can do is shop him around and take the best offer. In my opinion, the best offer will be far less than his worth. But that's what happens when you have a lousy front office.

Well said MVKrum....And the teams that would be desperate for a WR are the teams that are in that rebuild stage. So i dont see any of them tossing draft picks out of the water for him...

The Cardinals best CB is Roderick Hood (Lito Sheppard's understudy). If they like Hood, they will love Lito. With those two guys the Cardinals would have one of the better defensive backfields in their division. The Arizona Republic can report anything they want, but the Cardinals and Clancy Pendergast know what Lito can do for their team, they were 28th in the league against the pass last year. I'm sure they are looking to improve on that.
Keep in mind that whoever gets Larry Fitzgerald takes his huge salary too. I think that's a much bigger problem than Lito wanting a new contract.
Larry Fitzgerald is preventing the Cardinals from doing what they need to do to get to the playoff - It's not like they are holding all the bargining chips.

They are also probably saying they don't like lito because they want the Eagles to think he is such a valuable bargaining chip. If they have already received 6 offers, he clearly is a solid commodity, no matter what the Cardinals front office may have you guys beleive

You are right EaglefanSue, the Arizona Republic can report that they aren't interested in Lito Shepherd but we all know that any team would like to have him in their secondary.
Everything is speculation as far as what the teams are saying to one another. Here are the facts...
1. We have offered the Cardinals a trade for Larry Fitzgerald. We aren't for sure exactly what the details of the trade but Lito Shepherd and Reggie Brown are said to be included.
2. The Cardinals are in a world of mess right now. They don't have any money and they only have 16 players signed to the defense.
3. The Arizona Front Office has been trying to restructure his deal for the past month and they have not got any closer than they were then.
4. We have the resourses and money available to bring him to the Eagles.
I disagree about Fitz's contract being a bigger issue than Lito wanting a new one. Larry is worth more than Lito to this team. He hasn't played a full season the past 3 years. Comparing what both brings to the table as far as production to a team, I would take Fitz's big contract rather than Lito's any day. Especially when we have the money to bring in a player that can contribute to the success of the offense right away. Never no when Lito will play do we. Is he still hurt this week or not? If we were in a tight spot with our money, I'd say no deal but that isn't the case at all.

Exactly, the whole trade talks is a huge cat and mouse game. It is always back in forth, and you are right we have received 6 offers from other teams out there. The Cardinals know that as well. They are stalling right now hoping that they can put an offer on the table that Fitz will bite on before they have no choice than to trade him.
Fitz has every right to do what he is doing. They offered this deal to him. Can you imagine his eyes and his agents eyes when they saw that deal on the table. They probably called their Car dealers and home builders and told them to start building and have my 5 new cars delivered to my new house today.

I like the idea of Larry Fitzgerald as a member of the Eagles, a WHOLE LOT. But--let's see what the Cardinals want for him. I could go "Lito Sheppard + 1st round pick" OR I could go "Lito + Reggie Brown". I don't like the idea of Lito, Reggie AND the first pick. (Or the 2nd-5th picks). I am not sure WHY the Cardinals would want another expensive 1st-rounder they'd have to pay, anyway.
It sounds to me like the entire Arizona franchise is in DEEP trouble. Are they getting ready to fold? Or just have a "Fire Sale"? If its a $$ thing, maybe we send Lito AND some money for #11. They've sure let some talent get away in recent years.
The #11 for the Detroit Lions, Roy Williams, also interests me.

Eagles fans, Lets not get too biased about your players now.
Lito is a good CB. but hes not great.
His best year in the NFL was 2004 i think. When he posted 56 Tackles and 5 Ints.
Those are good solid numbers. But not great.
Compared too some of the great CBs in the NFL those numbers really arnt too good. Just point this out. no disrespect. ill grade them too for there overall career not only the year posted.
Lito Shep-2004-56tackles-5ints
Champ Bailey-2006-85tackles and 10ints-A+
Marcus Trufant-2007-85tackles-7ints-B
Nate Clements-2007-92tackles-4ints-A
DeAngelo Hall-2007-70tackles-5ints-B+
Antonio Cromartie-2007-44tackles-10ints-B(hes young)
Ronde Barber-2005-99tackles-5ints-A
Asante Samuel-2006-65tackles-10ints-A
Thats just some. theres more. I realize stats arnt everything. But they also dont lie about how good a CB is. Lito hasnt ever posted a year close to most of these guys.
Right now i rate Lito a B. and for some of the average years he had(C average) a B grade is being very fair for him.
Then you guys. Reggie Brown...Hes a good solid WR...but. Lito has a lot more value then Brown.
And as for you guys saying "the Cardinals wrote a check they cant cash" thats not true. They can and could. I agree if they did keep him at that price it would be stupid. but they could. it would hurt next year with them contending in the NFC. But after next year they have contracts from lower players that would expire and free up money to go else where.

One thing I heard was that one of Arizona's CB's Antrelle Rolle was moved to saftey, so there could be a hole Lito could fill

Hey OJ, you're right, stats aren't everything!!! Lito is a Dallas Killer and that is an intangible that made him super valuable to us....plus their scheme doesn't dictate the corners making the tackles, rather the strong and free safety...so I don't think you can really compare numbers and grades when you haven't seen all of these guys play every game of every year...I'll admit, he's slow to come back from injuries, which I'm sure is he way of showing displeasure in his contract, but when he's on the field he is one of the top corners in the NFL...when you don't hear his name or see him getting burnt for long TD's, that's when you know he is doing his job...all that being said, can we please trade him and get SOMEBODY at WR?!?!?!

Yeah,
But Rolle wasnt a CB on the Cards last year. He lost his starting job to Eric Green. And Hood is the other CB. Rolle played i think 3-4 games at Saftey last year and did very good.

Yes. that all might be true. But hes something for that.
Az doesnt care if hes a Dallas killer. and if he was all you guys crack him up too be. You WOULDNT want to trade him. even tho you have Asante. If he was that good. Him with Asante would be the best CB tandem in the NFL. and that means a lot.
Think of it this way.
Denver has Champ Bailey, Dre Bly...and Dominique Foxworth who is a youn CB who is very talented. BUT we have NO good DTs and its killing us.
If Bailey was trade for a pro bowl DT Denvers D would be upgraded. Dre Bly and Foxworth would still be a good CB tandem..Not one of the best anymore. But still good.
But that being said. I would NEVER trade Champ bailey! i know DT is a HUGE hole for us. But i said let it be a hole for now. And we'll find some other way to make it better or atleast solid. keep Champ and Dre. and have one of it not the best CB tandems in the NFL.
See what im getting at?
