I actually hope this comes true. This guy is way overrated! He is nothing more than a 3rd WR/ Kick return guy if you ask me. Yes he has speed but he is small and lacks the physical ability to be a top Wr in the NFL. Yes, I am a Charger fan so that would be awesome to see ther Broncs take him that high.
This is crazy talk. There have been a few Broncos fans on the team page saying we should get Desean Jackson at 12 but they have mostly changed their minds. This would be a waste of a pick. We signed Keary Colbert in FA to address the Number 2 WR issue. We still have Brandon Stokely too. No way we go WR here.
Word on the street is Mike Shannahan didn't even go to the Combine this year, sending the D coordinator instead. Not sure if I believe this, but I think The Broncos are going Defense this draft. The only Offensive guy I can see us drafting is Ryan Clady out of Boise State. I think Shanny is hoping either Ellis or Dorsey drops to 12. That would be good.
This Broncos fan has to agree, no farging way the Broncos take a WR. Way too many other needs. O-Line and D-Line for one. Although I will admit the Broncos have a horrible draft record so who knows.
The Broncos won't take Jackson at #12. He's Ted Giin Jr. alright....... and taking a guy who's primarily a kick returner that high is a waste. He's only 5'9" too and that doesn't fit the Broncos typical receiver. I've also seen mock drafts with Clady, but I doubt that. He's a Junior not from a big program, facing top talent throughout the season.
In my opinion, it's defense. Linebacker was addressed through free agency so that leaves defensive line or safety. Hard to tell with Shanahan since he never tips his hand. The one guy I kind of hope Denver takes is Mendenhall, the back from Illinois. I know, it's not a need for the Broncos but a running back like this could team with Cutler in the backfield for years, he has good moves running it and he has good hands catching the ball. Henry missed too many games last year and after that, it was inconsistent for the Broncos running game. Injuries on the offensive line didn't help either.
I think they will and should take DeSean Jackson.
Look at the positions that they won't draft in the first round LB, CB, or Safety on D. And not QB, RB, TE on Offense. Their major needs are WR, DT (they don't need DE because of Crowder, Dumervil, Engelberger, Ekuban and Moss) and O-line especially at guard. There is no player left at either DT or O-line that is worth taking with the 12th pick, that won't be around in the late 20's. So you either trade and take one of those at the end of the first round, or early in the second (and have more picks to get some young depth), or you take Jackson. He can jump right into Special Teams (a major area of need) and can give them depth at WR. They don't a WR that is big and physical (Marshall) or one who goes over the middle (Stokley); they need a fast deep threat. That's what Jackson is, plus he fits in their style of offense (from playing at Cal) and is healthy. He is the best pick that will address their needs that will be available at number 12.
So look at the Broncos to either trade their pick, or take Jackson (unless something great falls into their lap like Clady).

You must be new to football. See, mock drafts are thought up by writers, its not what's going to happen that day, it's not even what a team has in mind, it's conjecture and assumption.
I remember how the Chargers got good, anyone else? That's right by SUCKING!!!! They had two #1 picks within the last 7 years. If you ask Charger fan though, they've been an elite team for years and years.
Congrats on your first playoff win last season since your superbowl loss in 1994. LOL.
Sorry but the cockliness irritates me, all Charger fans (besides a couple hundred that have lived through the tough times) are Fair Weather bandwagoners.
This would be a stupid pick for the Broncos because they have the two Brandon receivers: Marshall, who is becoming a great receiver now, and Stockley, who is really good as well they got Keary Colbert now he was stuck in that Carolina mess so it will help him out there they need to take an offensive lineman they are loaded on the defensive line so either Ryan Clady from Boise State or Chris Williams from Vanderbilt or Brendan Albert from Virginia they badly need offensive lineman to help out Jay Cutler and make running room for the running backs!
