Hey Charger fans. Hope you don't mind a Bronco fan posting on your board, even if it is a serious and well meaning post.

With the depth at running back in this years draft, do you think you might look a potentially getting future replacement for LT?

We've seen how quickly Shaun Alexander went downhill after his record breaking season, and while I think LT is a far superior and much tougher player than Alexander, there is no doubting the amount of damage and wear and tear that the NFL exerts on running backs. We saw late on the in the season the risk of injury for a running back when LT got hurt in the playoffs, so perhaps it's time to reduce the workload slightly for him?

If someone like Jonathan Stewart or Rashard Mendenhall fell to number 27 in the draft, would you be happy to take him? The though of Tomlinson, Stewart and Sproles backfield is pretty frightening. Although Sproles is the back up, I see him more as a change of pace back rather than an every down player.

It must be nice having free reign over your draft this year due to not having an particularly glaring needs. The only possible weakness I see is maybe the offensive line, which is not as dominating as it has been.

With the Broncos seemingly having a decent offseason and with the development of a lot of young and talented players, we should see the AFC West stay competitive, well at least amongst our 2 teams, the less said about the Raiders and Chiefs the better...

Robbo101,

I don't mind you posting here as it sounds like a meaningful question. If you want, join the conversation on one of the other threads called Draft and Team needs this off season. We have been talking about this subject the past few day along with other positions that we think should be addressed within the draft.

I feel that Sproles has the potential to be a starting, every down running back but I just dont see LT needing a replacement for some time. He still has at least another great 5 years in him. When it comes to that, Sproles wont be that young either. I have to give it up to Towers. He'll do the right thing.

robbo

Welcome...to Chargers land

If you look at the other threads, I've been saying the same thing. LaDainian Tomlinson will be entering his 8th year. Even tho he's been very good at evading the devastating hit during his career. The odometer is getting on the high side.

With Michael Turner now signed by the Falcons and the release of Lorenzo Neal there are 2 less quality backs on the roster. Darren Sproles I believe (like you) is more of a change-up guy. He's too small to carry the rock 20-25 times a game. Andrew Pinnock is more of a fullback type for short first down yardage and goal line thrusts.

I think they should address this issue in the first round, and everything else in later rounds or trades?

I'm hoping your Broncos have a bounce back season...say 11-5 and maybe my Chargers can go 13-3. As you say the Raiders and Chiefs are left unspoken about cuz there isn't anything to say.

GO CHARGERS

PS I have a few Bronco fans in my favs...now you too.

octaveoff,

How about leaving baseball up to Towers and leaving the Chargers up to Smith...

Anyone think there is a possibility that Lorenzo will be resigned with a restructured contract? He hasn't signed with anyone yet, so I wonder if AJ has a trick up his sleeve to save the team some money and bring him back on a smaller contract.

Do you really think that the Broncos will be competitive with that front 7.... That D line is pretty bad and your new starting LBs include a carrer backup and 1 that was let go by the Lions Defense........ Your offense while it showed some signs it still scored the same amount pts with Cutler as it did with Plummer.

THOMAS BROWN from Georgia would be a great pick in the draft for us, but I think he will be a late second to late third round pick, which at this point don't have right now. He is only 5'9 200lbs but is a true runningback and is strong too. This guy has great vision, cutback ability, and can pass block. Has everything you look for in a RB and put up good numbers thru his college career, yet he is somewhat small. Although LaDainian Tomlinson is only 5'10 215, so Brown is not much smaller. CHECK HIM OUT FELLAS!!!

You stay classy, Victor.

If I had to guess, I would say that you have probably never known the touch of a woman.
