Would have said LT until the playoffs, the man's toughness is DEFINTELY a question and that is not a good thing when you are a RB. That said, Peterson might be the real deal but has to do it a few more years. Beyond that it really is light in the RB pool these days, lot of good ones but none great.

You know what, I would have said LaDainian Tomlinson before the AFC title game, but after his lack of playing I think I would go with Adrian Peterson.  My only concern with AP is or AD as he is known is his injury history, if he can stay healthy he will put up huge numbers for years to come.  Back to LT; I watched him play those few downs that he played and he looked alright to me.  I am not a doctor, but I think he could have at least provided the Chargers with a decoy.  Now LT has always been a class guy, but it just seems like he could have done more in the most important game of his career.

Another Saints FANATIC coming to put his two cents in. LaDANIAN is the man until proven otherwise. I am pissed that the NFL moved our home game with the Chargers to of all places, LONDON, ENGLAND? What are they thinking?

Very surprised to see Westbrook not get that many votes. LT and AP can be stopped with 6 to 8 in the box when Westbrook has been trudging through lines with hurt QB's over the past 3 years and still puting up monster #'s.

I will go with AP because he had no help from the worst QB in the league. Westbrook is number 2 because of virtually the same problem (McNabb is servicable but not an elite QB) and I'll put LT 3rd because he is has Gates to take pressure off of him and Rivers who is an emerging star.

I would say LT and my man B. Westbrook right behind him. People thought B.WEST couldn't be an every down back, but he's proved the naysayers wrong. He's basically carried my Birds on his back the last two years. Imagine if the passing game was a little better and teams couldn't game plan around him as much.

3peater,

Would have said LT until the playoffs, the man's toughness is DEFINTELY a question and that is not a good thing when you are a RB.

Turns out that LT had a partially torn MCL (6 week injury) during the AFC Championship game.  Not sure how you blast a guy that ran on an injured knee and injured it further on the first carry... but still kept on playing for several plays!  You'll have to remind me of the last RB that played on a torn MCL.  I'm having trouble finding any.

Look back to last year's playoff game against the Patriots...

123 rushing yards  5.3 ypc average and 2 TD's.
 64 receiving yards.
187 total yards on 25 touches...  7.5 yards/touch

I don't know, looks pretty tough to me.  Too bad Marty Schottenhiemer wasn't smart enough to give LT the ball every single play...

And let's not forget that LT has played with broken ribs, pulled groin, separated shoulder...  Please, I thought the "LT isn't tough enough" argument had been put to bed long ago.  I didn't know that Deion Sanders was a well respected "expert" on toughness. LOL!

I think Westbrook is one of the most underrated players in the game. I pick him over anyback in the NFL
