DETROIT RED WINGS- JUST MIGHT BE MIKE BABCOCK'S LAST YEAR IF THEY DON'T GO TO THE FINALS. YES THEY HAVE HAD EIGHT STRAIGHT SEASONS OF ONE HUNDRED POINTS OR MORE AND SOON SIX STRAIGHT FIFTY PLUS WIN SEASONS. BUT NONE OF THAT MATTERS IF THEY DON'T WIN IT ALL THIS YEAR.

???? Mike Babcock is one of the best coaches in the NHL and the Wings front office knows this. They are close to an extension.

I know the Wings have been dominate for the last 20 years or so but they don't operate like the Yankees.

I guess your theory is trying not letting the facts get in the way of a good story.

Babcock will be re-signed.  They've been working on trying to get a new deal done and Holland has already stated his new contract will have nothing to do with how the Wings do in the playoffs.

I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT I LIKE BABCOCK. HE SEEMS TO BE VERY LEVEL HEADED AND GETS THE MOST OUT OF HIS PLAYERS.

Wes, Does CBS do random drug screening were you work at? because I thinkyou need to get in for a test. What are you smoking? John Stevens just got a contract extension 3 months ago why would the Flyers fire him. What because of injuires and some bad play? If they Don't make the playoffs they are still improvement over last years team... So why would you fire the coach?????

WES, STOP SNIFFING THE OFFICE GLUE BEFORE YOU WRITE........

Well considering the Flyers have been in a huge tailspin that puts the coach on the hot seat.  Hockey teams don't usually stand for losing very long before the coach is gone.  And if the team was on fire at one point and is just gone down hill they blame the coach and find someone else.

As for the Dead Wings they should fire Mike LickCock because he sucks as a coach.  Its easy as hell to win 50 games and get 100 points when you are the only team in your division that makes the playoffs year after year.  At best they get 2 teams in which is still a joke.  This is why when they get into the playoffs they lose.  They play crap teams almost all year and can't play a 7 game set against a good team.  If they were in any other division in the West they would be a 4 or 5 team at best.

lovinMSU last time I checked the Wings worst record this season is against their own division yet they still have the best record in the NHL.  So this crackpot theory that they are only good because they have a weak division clearly is false.  They are 12-11-2 against the Central while being 37-8-4 against the rest of the NHL.  Against the Pacific division which most have considered to be the toughest one this year they are 15-5-0.  No other team has a record that good against the Pacific except Pittsburgh who is 4-0-1.  Also seems a bit hypocritical coming from an Avs fan whose Northwest division was a joke up until a few years ago.
