Freel's always been our emergency catcher...I'm sure he's done it before. Why not let him try it?

All of you who bag on me for suggesting we trade EE can eat it. so what if he lead us in batting avg. last year- we sucked. EE is the worst 3rd baseman I think I've seen in years! He can't field worth crap! To whom ever suggested the EE to BP to JV double play, I got one you have to be dead not to have heard. EE throws to first and throws it away, another error!

You know who had more errors than Edwin Encarnacion at 3rd last year? Lets make a list: (And yes he only played in 139 games but thats only ~10-15 games less than most others)
There may be more but I didn't really feel like looking through EVERYBODY. Do you hear people complaining about their defense? I didn't think so. He only committed 16 last year at the hardest position to field probably other that SS. Cut him some slack, he'll never be Eric Chavez but he's much better than what all you doubters say he is.

I have wanted to see a trade between the Reds and the Giants for a long time now as the Reds need a catcher and we have reason to keep any of our veterans would you guys want Bengie Molina. As he was an all star last year its doubtful he would come without something good what do you Red fans think about bringing him in.

Send em Matt Belisle and Ryan Freel for Bengie Molina...something around that ballpark. That gives the Giants an arm and a CF/UTL. guy. Belisle might give them some leverage to deal one of their better arms for a really good bat as well on down the line.
Honestly, I am in love with the Reds spring training progress and potential lineup. I know that's a dangerous thing to do, look at EE's spring numbers last year compared to what he did in the full season but hot damn we got some arms all of a sudden. Adding Molina to this mix could be the final piece to make a legitimate run THIS YEAR.

The Giants are only going to be moving players for prospects as we already have guys in the bigs that are spot starts and we have good depth in the rotation and in the pen. Sorry to say but it would take prospects not to say your best prospects but prospects none the less as the Giants are looking down the road not now.

The catcher position is definitely the weakiest position on our team and I think the Giants might be interested only because Molina is going to make around 6 million this year. I don't think we nee to pick up that salary and I bet you the Giants would love Belisle I don't know if they would want Freel because he to make almost 4 million this year.
The main reason to trade Freel is to get rid of his contract and we would probably take just about any deal thrown our way just to get rid of it and this would be a A ball player kind of deal.

Ryan Freel is definitely expendable. I believe with his 7 million dollar salary (over the next two years) he will be difficult to move. There is no way Edwin Jackson would be in the conversation, the Rays are not that dumb........he showed promise over the second half of last season. Most likely if the Reds want to get rid of Freel they will have to eat a portion of his salary.
I wish they could somehow attempt to get Johnny Estrada from the Nationals, they already have LoDuca.
