90% of the fanbase is made up of fairweathers. Which is really sad for a team with such rich tradition. Did you guys see fans throwing beer, hot dogs and what not on the floor at the end of the UMass game? Sure your upset, but come on. To make it worse all these people want Boeheim fired. That is one of the most ridiculous things Ive seen in a while, he would never be fired, Boeheim has senority over anyone and everyone in the sports offices at SU. Ever since Cuse won the title in 03, these fans expect something every season. 21-13 isnt even that bad. Seriously, calling for Boeheims head with this record and what has happened with injuries this season is crazy. Real classy.

Just like Boeheim has seniority over the SU office. I have seniority over the SU fans here. Don't say we have bad fans. Were just a little frustrated with the way SU Athletics as a whole has been the last 4 years.

Well, the throwing things all has to do with people being drunk, so I think the alcohol influence has more to do with it than anything. And it's just the NIT tournament, something we won't even remember in 3 years. Good years are to come. Kind of ironic how this year ended though, considering it was basically the story to their whole season, getting ahead and then losing in the clutch.

How do you have senority? Hell I've been here twice as long as you and I dont have senority. The only dissapointing thing in the last 4 years has been the football. Lax has been top 20 forever and Basketball has won 20 the last 24 years, much more than 4.

Cuse played well late in the season, and the NIT, and the first half of this game. Would you (or other Cuse fans) have been happier with a 1st round NCAA loss instead of the experience you young players gained not going to the NCAA?
And I'm not saying that they would have lost in the first round of the NCAA - and not busting Cuse - just a hypothetical.
Do you think the other bubble teams that made the tournament and lost - are better off than Cuse?

Devo is not far off on our fan base at the games they do suck 98% of the time. As for SU athletics as a whole it has been horrible. As for what happened to the fan base who went nuts at the games in years past...well we got smart and moved south. Quite honestly Syracuse as a city has had I would say close to 200,000 people leave it in the last 20 years. Myself included back in the late 90's father's company moved down here.(FLA) So my ending opinion is SU lost alot of big time fans that would be in there 20's,30's, and 40's now due to the demise of the city's business life.

LBE, Not at all. Ill take 3 rounds of NIT against 1 round of NCAA. NIT still has decent teams in it. The players would get more experience from 3 NIT games rather than 1 NCAA.

you know what UK fans get to fall back on when the basketball season let us down? cheerleading, yeah it's our second most prized program. baseball won like its first ever SEC title last year, but Louisville gets to the CWS. football is always exciting but we're rarely successful in the SEC. there's not much else we can really hang our hat on
