I'm officially welcoming myself back again...even if we keep losing. I decided to try to control my anger via denial and ignorance. But watching too many losses has driven me to the point of insanity.

Tonights game vs. the Penguins was not encouraging at all. I know some people may think were playing better, and maybe we are. But as I already explained in another post, we cannot rely on desperation for our offense. Paul Martin and Mike Mottau mus'nt be the catalysts of our team. Yes, it is nice for them to jump in every once in a while, and I think its necessary, but it will only lead to more defensive breakdowns than we already have.

Yes, Patrik Elias, my new MVP pick for the season. Forget about Martin Brodeur, forget John Madden, but if this team didn't have Patty, we'de get to see an average of .5 goals scored per game. I don't know if I'm being serious about that, because obviously Marty is Marty, but Elias might be the most important underproducer in the league. Hes not what he was, but without him, this team is dismal to watch.

Obviously, we all know the problem: offense. It hasn't been solved by Sutter's new line combos, or his new strategies...nor by our Parise's and Gionta's of the world. Its not being solved by our offensive defensemen...if you want to call them that..so what can we do. Nothing, Now, we just sit back and watch as Lou's mighty defensive powerhouse (semi-joke) crumble down the stretch and in the playoffs. With no help coming from Lowell it looks like its a dry future ahead of us...unless....the unimaginable happens....

....and Gambi takes over as GM.

I saw Lou in his box tonight and he looked dumb founded. I guess he loves defense so much because his box is located on the net the opponent shoots on twice and I forgot to mention we have 9 defenders and can't score any more.

With the game changing styles so much Lou must come to realize that defense will not win a cup anymore. It is time for Lou to go or start spending some real cash on some real offensive scorers. I have been a fan and season ticket holder for years and cannot take the defensive approach any longer. As much as I like Salvador , they should have called up Matvichuk from Lowell to provide the veteran leadership that we need and gone after a bone-a-fide offensive threat.

No, its not even that, if our defense was consistant I'd be a little more satisfied. But whether its Brookbank or Andy Greene or Oduya or Salvador or whoever, it always seems theres a breakdown. We cant even say our defense is that dominating. If people want to say Lou built a good team, this is who he built it with (the whole team): Martin Brodeur.

Hey santana. I couldn't agree more. Were in deep trouble. I would never ever quit on the Devils to make a run in the playoffs but just don't see it happening this year....

All I can say is LETS GO METS GO !!!!!

Gambi's hati is in the ring for gm???Well I will try and remain positive, though I would love anyone as GM now but LOU.Yeah its sad to say.Fot the people whom were in agreement with me as we needed offense like the desert needs rain,we knew, for those who were opposed and said we were moaning for nothing,Ill say it hurts, but I have to say it "" I Told You So!!!!!!!!!!!''. Moving forward I have a simple call to action. Now that we have been outscored by the Pens 9-1 over the last two games lets think clearly.First off, somebody reign Marty in,,,,will it be Brent?Lou?or Larry??....sound like the three stooges??Well almost, who ever was in charge for not putting marty out for a few games sooner against lesser teams would be a stooge!!! two:...Lets get collected and get back to basics, whatever style the Devils are emplying IS FAILING MISERABLy,lets experiment, maybe bring up some hungry youth and start to at least play to what the Talent level is.Regardless if that is enough to make the playoffs, what we have been doing and seeing latly isnt either....so does it really matter?three: Making the playoffs is a reward, this team hasnt shown it has been even hungry enough to eat dinner, should they get dessert???Now is the time Lou should be seeing who is playing and who is dogging it,if your a dog, your dealt,period.4. and last,I keep hearing from the devils that they are playing well and its only brief minutes or a period here (hello a hockey game is 60 full minutes)and there that is there downfall. You know what, all of them are responsible, they should wake up and admit theres a mjor problem with scoring,if you dont admit it and are in denial it will never be addressed,,,,,is it just me or are the devils soundbites resemble, snipets we hear from presidential campaigns??? Finally I will keep watching the Titanic, that is the remaining of the Devils season sink, still faithful, still hoping and still wondering how does Lou feel that the team he so thought was good enough to go places has bit his hand, how does that feel Lou.???

DId I mention this is game number 16 of giving up two or fewer and losing?? Number five of giving up one goal and losing.

And for the record, I am sick and tired of listening to Chico. With about seven minutes left in the third period, he made a comment about how the Devils were putting forth a good offensive effort in the 3rd period. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't offense when you score goals?? Offense isn't when you take shots and miss the net or cycle the puck for 30 seconds and then lose it to a defender or have shot after shot blocked by the opposing team.... it's when you put the puck in the F'ing net!!!!

I hate talking about it, because they still haven't even made the playoffs, but they will be lucky to get the 7th seed the way they are playing. I have no confidence they will win tomorrow or Friday. By the time they play the Islanders on Monday, I can see the Rangers and Flyers being ahead of them.

I some how bet that if Lou would to step down as GM that next season you all would call for his return by the end of that year.

If the season is won or lost at the trade deadline you would have a lot bigger and better moves being made than what was actually completed.

49ers, I think that as Devils fans, we agree on everything about the franchise, but our views on Lou. I think if he stepped down or got fired, it would be the best thing for this team. Lou is a 20th century GM. This is the 21st century and the salary cap era in the NHL, and right now, I have never seen a team as inactive or with a GM so stubborn as we have now. Lou did indeed blow the season when he refused or failed to get us some offense at the trade de
