I hope the Sabres can just lose the next two or three games so management will realize that they pretty much suck and Golisano fires the whole bunch. I hope they have fun explaining to the team owner that even though salaries will be down, so will revenues. The team you assembled for some of the most die hard hockey fans is a joke. You have a team of players who seem to be very lacksadasical.
Led by the biggest bust of an NHL player in Tin man Connolly. Hey Regier, can I work for the Sabres about 1/3 of the time and still pull in over 3 million a year. Lets lose all the veteran leadership and replace them all with second and third year guys.
Lets treat a classy guy like Teppo and suspend him for having a heart defect and then when he is ready to come back after being cleared by specialists, take the word of a team doctor and keep him suspended. Guess you didnt want him signing with a team that takes care of its fans and players, say like Ottawa. Hey, heres a great idea, take one of the most coveted free agent to be and trade him for a third line forward who was rejected by at least two other teams at the trade deadline. Oh yeah, those two teams are in the playoffs and know what it takes to get there and STAY there.
So enjoy your lower salary structure as well as your missing the playoffs and the extra revenue that goes with it. For me, my remaining tickets for this year, all two games will be donated to kids in the neighborhood. Let them go see a game to see how hockey should not be played. Maybe they will see this is a franchise that consistently kills the good name of hockey and all the hard earned money us Buffalonians spend on your crap.   Oh yeah, so nice of your prick players to actually stop after a game and sign a few autographs for KIDS. With the exception of max, Lydman and Peters, your players treat fans like CRAP.

A few I guess you could call the "ungratefuls"

ToThomas Vanish,  screw the fans gotta get home five minutes early to spend your ten million on QVC.
Hey Miller, get outta town and get to Detroit ASAP. Alot better goaltender than you can ever dream of being already did it to us so your nothing new.
Hey, Roy, thanks for making a bunch of 6 and 7 year olds cry because you couldn't sign two freaking autographs after a game.
To Connolly, you should simply burn in hockey hell for having the same body fragility of an 85 year old man and a non existent heart.
To Jason Pominville, a quick re read of the waiver wire from 2 seasons ago, when Pominville had no population and no one wanted you.
To Ales Kotalik, your own DVD entitled Great shot use the freaking thing.
To Steve "big bear" Burnier, one way ticket back to San Jose, no wait they will probably win cup so ticket will be issued in July.
To Drew Stafford, trade to another team with a superstar like Briere, so you can ride their coat tails like you did on Danny's and pretend you are a star in the making.
To Danielle Paille, the Jody Gage award for your AHL talent and realization thats where you should stay.
To Mr Thibault, simply retirement papers.
To Patrick Kaleta, you win the local boy treats fans like crap award. your from here, you should know better.
To Lindy Ruff, a book called If its broke fix it, subtitle, if your hockey system don't work, its time to change.
To all power play lines, a book called, Nine passes on the blue line fools no one, Shoot the damn puck!

Believe it or not, some players deserve good things awarded to them.

Lydman and Peters get the I love the fans award. Signing anything that was put in your face while standing in dress shoes in a snowbank in a Buffalo winter will win it for ya everytime. My daughter still brags about the homemade poster you signed for her to all her friends
. To Tallinder, Spacek and Lydman, a special announcement from Lindy Ruff that you are all solid blue liners and that Red Light Ryan was actually at fault for a majority of the goals credited to defensive breakdowns.
To Mad Max, a trade to a team with a coach that respects your talents and doesn't single you out for mistakes the whole team has been guilty of.
To Paul Gaustad and Adam Mair, more teammates that play with your heart, soul and intensity.
To Nolan Pratt, an anchor, because you have become the defensive defenseman every team must have, a true anchor on our blue line.

So Buffalo fans take heart, our off season will surely bring more stupid signings and lack of progress on upcoming UFA's. After all, we have become the Pittsburgh Pirates, Kansas City Royals of hockey. That is draft them, groom them and then when they get the big bucks, let em go.

Holly crap are you a Sabres fan???? Cause if you are i give you credit for saying ALL the right things,Buffalo will never go to the next level, they just don't know how to spend there millions the right way, letting Drury go was ok but NOT Briere he should have been paid RE-30 goals for a crappy team(Phily).Biron was the worst trade ever,Miller should have been traded instead!! Now Millers going and nothing for him also! So next years out look is worse then now.No goalie,no defense, and Tomas Vaneck as you best player,HUM looks like a GM + COACH need to be changed YEAH it's all there fault__________(NOT) the owner caused this mess by not spending when he had to,so Kansas City Royals NO am thinking Kansas City Scouts....as in the move is a few years away when the fans STOP supporting this team!!! Like the BILLS playing in TORONTO give me a  break, what a joke!

Boo hoo nobody would sign my kids autograph! You are a moron. Why don't you teach your kids that sports are just supposed to be fun. Enjoy it or don't watch it, but quit the constant bitching. Why do you want an autograph anyway. Its just a name on a paper of a person you obviously think is worthless anyway. Buffalo has been frustrating to watch this year, but the most frustrating thing of all has been the whiny, spoiled fans.

I will say it one more time. Sports are supposed to be fun. If you aren't having fun, stop watching.

Jesus TotalCarnage get a life. You're blowing all the wrong guys. Golisano and Larry Quinn are the sole reasons the franchise is going in the tank. Regier's not perfect, just like every other GM in sports, they all make mistakes. But if you're looking to pile on anyone for the downfall of the Sabres, look no further than Tom Golisano and Larry Quinn. They went to the Ralph Wilson school of running a professional sports team. Just about every one of your criticisms of the players is totally unwarranted and unsubstantiated, outside of Tin Man Tim Connolly.  I'm embarrassed to even consider you a Sabres fan since you like the Pats and Yankees.

I agree and disagree with TotalCarnage99.  First, while it would be nice if the players signed all of the autographs that are requested lets get real and not get upset when they do not sign them.

As for the team, management built this, or rather destroyed this team, so most of the blame lies their.  But come one yesterday was not because of management, the players flat out fell apart and just gave up.  They have not heart.  They are supposed to be fighting for their playoff lives and get a freakin goaled scored against them and they fall apart.

I agree that Mr. Quinn and Reiger are the two biggest reasons for the destruction of the team.  Reiger follows all of the order given him.  Grow a set of B@lls and either stand up for the players you feel need to be re-signed or quit.  Quinn on the other hand should not have any say in player personel.  Give Reiger a budget and then let him do his job.  Let him sink or swin with the players he decides to sign, trade, let go and keep.  If in fact Reiger failed to sign his Stars over the last three years beacuse the owner and Quinn would not allow it, Reiger should have quit.  If they gave him a budget and Reiger blew the negotiations, which seems to be the fact, than Reiger should be to blame.

That being said, the players on the team have enough talent that they should have made the playoffs.  They have talent but no heart, at least of late.  How do you cruumble like a stack of cards?  Most of these guys have been to the conference championship the last two years.  There is no excuse for have a playoff spot in your graps and giving up.  Plus Miller needs to take a hand full of the blame.  His post game interview he blamed everone in front of him but placed no blame on himself.  The first goal and the third goal where all his fault.  The other goal where tough but if he wants to be the elite goalie he says he wants to be considered he need to make some of those save.  Bad bounced happen, great goalies seem to know how to stop them when it counts.  Miller, time and time again seems to let them in the net.

Plus 9 games lost in shoot outs?  If Miller was just .500 the team would have 4 to 5 more points and a bit of breathing room.  I know the shooters have not been great, but when the goalie is letting in 50% of the shots it really doesn't matter.

It will be a long off season and anyone who expects this management team to do anything drastic to improve the team do not count on it.

Carnage - Get a life dude.  You're more upset about the losses than the players are.  If they don't care why should we?  This season has nothing to do with Briere or Drury.  It has to do with poor play in our own end and mediocre goaltending.  We have a terrible OT/SO record this year which is what carried us to the President's Cup last year.  We are near the top in scoring but look at the inconsistency, 8 goals one night zero the next.  It's a team that lacks confidence and heart.  I would have much less issue with the season's results if the guys played hard and tried every night.  They don't.

Best Move of the year - Pratt - SIGN HIM FOR NEXT YEAR

Worst Move of the year - Vanek's contract - This was nothing more than a knee jerk reaction to management's other failures.

Worst Move of the year II - Swapping goalies with the Penguins.  How nice would it be to give Miller a break and not know it's a loss.

Players on their way out - Tin Man, T-Bow, Peters, Kalinen.

One more year to prove their worth or ship'em out - Stafford, Ales, Paetshe, Miller
