I honestly don't know how good UNCs defense really is. UNC as a team is really, really good, though, and I'm not sure about my pick of Kansas to win it all in my only money pool. The Cougs had to work for every open shot they got tonight. Unfortunately, Wash St didn't knock down too many of those open shots today and this was not a good day to be cold from the field. However, even if they make a reasonable percentage of those shots, they probably don't win the game. UNC was just too strong and too much bigger. While the Cougs had to hope for a little luck to pull down an offensive board, UNC was doing it constantly.
The Cougs have nothing whatsoever to hang their heads about. It was a great season but they ran into a juggernaut on a night when they were cold. The future is very bright for that program, though. They'll get better talent going forward and Baynes is going to be the cornerstone next year. He can hang with anyone.
