Rip Hamilton.  In the right situation, Curry could help make a team very good.

Even if he doesn't have a future in the NBA, look at what he is getting now:  a degree from Davidson College!

WHO CARES?!?!?!??!  Let's enjoy this once-in-a-generation performance from Mr. Curry and the rest of the great Davidson Wildcats.

I absolutley CANNOT STAND IT when someone wonders aloud about the pro prospects of a current collegiate stud.  Let it happens when it happens, and let the rest of us who enjoy intercollegiate sports (and HATE/DESPISE the joke that is the NBA) watch the great stories unfold unfettered.

I agree, I have been comparing him to Reggie Miller since last year, and he's so much better this year. He has one thing Reggie didn't...his ability to get his own shot! I know this is a reach, but I think he'll have a better pro career than Reggie did (at least as far as numbers are concerned, Reggies weren't that great 14.8ppg, 2.2apg), but he might not be as clutch (hard to beat Miller).

Everybody keeps bringing up body size, but Miller was strong for his weight, and remember Kevin Durant couldn't even bench 100lbs. Don't you think the wear and tear of Curry being keyed on and getting banged around would have shown more than it has to this point if his size was going to be a problem.

Since you brought up the Pacers and Indiana, I'd take Curry WAY before Eric Gordon!

No doubt he's a great player and great fun to watch. I think he's got a future ahead - anyone think Allen Iverson has an "NBA body"? As for the JJ Redick comparison, Curry can create his own shot - a major difference in my opinion.

Maybe the same type of future as J.J. Redick, or Christian Laettner.  Who cares?  These are the moments that make college basketball so pure.  Enjoy it, and let it be.

Watching the game last night all I was thinking was Allen Iverson without the street game. Obviously it's no comparison but if he lands with the right team he'd be golden. Imagine him getting picked up by the Cavs to fill that SG spot. Maybe Lebron wouldn't have to do anything.

Also, last time I checked there was a clutch SG who played for the Pacers who was lanky as could be.

the boddy size doesnt matter sg isnt a physical position who cares if youre 35 or 350 if you can shoot and run well enough you can play it and im sure he can play in the nba maybe even at point he make good passes drives well and is quick as hell plus he has the determination to make it and an nba pedigree that ensures he knows the game better than most so dont doubt him

He plays and moves like the reincarnation of Reggie Miller.  There is still a place in the NBA for a few skinny, slippery, pure shooting guards.  He'll have a great pro career.

Davidson played UNC and Duke in Charlotte at Bobcats Arena, but Cats were the "away" team.  They lost to UCLA in Anahiem.  They lost to NC State and UNC-Charlotte (as pretty good A-10 team) on road.

Stephen was playing with an injured wrist in those Nov/Dec games, but those teams still defensively keyed on him like we are saw G'Town and Wisconsin do.  Had he been 100%, Cats may have taken a couple of those games.

They easily beat Winthrop, another very good mid-major, in Bracketbuster.

Playing such a competive non-conference schedule in big arenas was great preparation for March.  This team is no fluke.   They should have been a 5-6 seed, but NCAA has a way of trying to get rid of great non-BCS teams early in tournament via the seeding and scheduling.

Stephen is the bomb.  I agree with the poster who thinks VaTech should fire their coach immediately.  The kid was great in high school (small in stature), however the pedigree was pretty visible to most of us laymen here in Charlotte (who don't get paid to know a real basketball talent like college coaches and their assistants).

VaTech has been an annual bubble team because of this.  I would have given the kid a scholarship just because his dad starred at my university.

Word to the wise coaches.  He has a little brother who I believe has committed to a school smaller than Davidson.  Maybe it is not to late to ask little bro to change his mind.

Wow, how many of us who live in NC would have believed that the two state schools still alive would be UNC and Davidson.  The other NC school that starts with the letter "D"  was lucky to survive Belmont.

Next up -- KU will be tougher because they have athletic big men and can score the basketball.  That is the opposite of G'Town and Wisconsin.

PS:  LBJ probably called Danny Ferry from his cell and said get Curry for the Cavs no matter what it takes

What do yuo think?  For a fact he's going to be a great player.  Give time time to get his weight and power up for the next level, he'll be unstoppable!

For all those that say who cares? Obviously the players. Playing in the NBA is a dream, a goal, an accomplishment. I know 90% of the players probably won't make it, but that doesn't mean they didn't want to make it. The money, fame, and all the fans, every player wants to make it big.

It's hard to tell how a player like this can fair in the NBA.  At 6'3" he isn't very tall for a shooting guard but his amazingly quick release allows him to shoot before the defense even knows what happened.

Dell Curry, who was one of the best pure shooters of his era, also had a small stature.  He was 6'5" but weighed only 5 lbs more than Stephen does now.  Dell had great success for over 15 years and his release was nothing like Stephen's and Stephen is more athletic.

So the true question is on the defensive end.  I'm not sure about this yet because although he looks too small to defend some well-sized NBA players, size can sometimes be deceiving (e.g. Richard Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince and Corey Brewer).  If he can develop the more skilled parts of the defensive game he can be successful, even in the NBA.  Good positioning can overcome some size differential.

Don't ever bet against a kid that has that kind of magic within.

Well said. Little guy, little school, you couldn't make this stuff up, not like this. Most of the CBB watching world is probably rooting for him and his team right now; I know Wisconsin is, and I sure am. March Madness, just greater than ever. Enjoy the rest of the tourney!
