If the Raiders don't take McFadden. I would think that they would take either Jake Long, Ryan Clady, or Chris Williams in order to shore up the O-line.
Of course, Al Davis will probably want Matt Ryan and off-set last year's pick.

McFadden could be outstanding, but I do agree that the Raiders are jam-packed at RB. Rhodes looked good at the end and of course Fargas was excellent prior to an injury. Perhaps a hulk of a 'D' lineman would help to strengthen that rush defense. I do appreciate that Mt. Davis is trying to wheel and deal. Atleast despite a terrible Raider squad he has tried to tweak the roster. Please, Al, let Lane coach, and whisper in Rob Ryan's ear that perhaps an occasional 5 or 6 man blitz package could be effective. Rob, you now have your two outside cover lockdowns.

I dont want the Raiders to take McFadden either, but they cant pass on him if he is there. Think about having to play him twice a year for the next 10 years. Its a possibility with KC looming next. Pay no attention to the supposed NFL draft analysts who think otherwise, because the Chefs would consider McFadden just as the raiders should, but only if they evaluate him as the most talented football player available at the time of their pick. You have to practice that kind of draft strategy or you end up with a bunch of good players, but no great ones. Mcfadden could be great and at the very least is as good as Gholsten or either of the other pics I have seen in so many of the Mock drafts. Lets see how it goes, but if the Raiders end up taking Mcfadden, Im all for it, but I prefer they trade down for multiple picks and in doing so can be instrumental in keeping Mcfadden out of our division if we arent taking him.

You guys are all crazy, The Raiders WILL draft McFadden and he WILL be crazy good. They will have a very, very deep backfield. This is how it's going to go down, They will draft McFadden, he will be the primary and the race for #2 will be on between Huggy Bear jr., Micheal Bush, and Rhodes may get some action too. The best of those 3 will stick around in 2009/2010 season, and the other will be traded for mid round picks. (Rhodes will be a free agent- not resigned) More than likely in 2 year the Raiders will have one of the sickest backfields in the game with McFadden and Micheal bush. Come on how good does that sound!!! Do it Oaktown. But you guys are right about one thing, they do need line help, O & D.

There are a lot of good insightful views on here however, the backfield we have now is ideally right for this upcoming season. We have a 1-2 punch in the agile Justin Fargas and the power game with Michael Bush. What we really need is O-line help. I just don't see us drafting Darren McFadden.
HOWEVER....
We are the Raiders and we have been known for making some questionable draft moves (K Janikowski, CB Washington, DE Brayton, and OT's Stinchcomb & Collins) in which these positions were not immediate needs.
With that being said....
I do see us drafting D-Mac with the #4 overall pick. Al Davis will never pass on a potential human highlight film. Watching LT running up and down our throats has def left a sour taste in his wretched old mouth and having a homerun threat with blazing speed (reminiscent of BO JACKSON) will be just too enticing to pass up.
I see Head Coach Kiffen pushing for an OT (Jake Long) and Coach Ryan (Defensive Coordinator ) pushing for a DT (Glenn Dorsey or Sedrick Ellis); BUT Big AL will supercede both & draft D-Mac to bring excitment back to our anemic offense.

reaperrpb1,
Hit hit the nail in the head. There is really no way to sign our rookie draft choices regardless of who we pick. Look for us to start unloading veteran players (unless we can trade them for additional lower draft picks & a bag of peanuts) who make way too much for their respective positions and placement in the depth chart.
I do see Fabian Washington, Dominic Rhodes, and Stuart Schweigert as potentially getting their pinks slips come June 1st.

Al Davis is going to draft D. McFadden , there is no question about , Al has never draft out of the 1st round . Look we can have Justin Fargas , Michael Bush , Dominic Rhodes and D.McFadden every one bring a different dimension to the field . Our lines is getting better .We did produce a 1,000 yard back and a 500 yard (L.Jordan) and a 300 yard back (D.Rhodes) supposely with a suspect line . Now we now who is our quarteback is we now have a former pro bowler at wide reciever in (Javon Walker) and a upcoming tightend (Zach Miller) . We can be this years Cleveland Browns with a better defense . Al has spend some money in this offseason and I here all the coments that he over spend . every free agent that has sign this off-season all I hear that they over-paid so there is no different on what the Raiders has spent , I'm actually happy for the player we did get , there are a lot teams that has not done much and they think that they are better . WE WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS GUARANTEE !!!!!!!!

Reggie Bush with size is not really a compliment. Did you say him play as the starter once Duece got hurt. Not very impressive for the number 2 pick in the draft. I say get some O-line help or get some team to break the bank to move up and take him. Everybody assumes they will take him, so if some G.M. covets him, let the give you their best offer. After A.P.'s monster season, this is the time to cash in. Personally, I don't the D-Mac is near the player A.P. is. They are similar athletically, but Peterson breaks many more tackles, which is what the great backs must do in the NFL. You are not just gonna pro defenders, which I think isn that is all McFadden is good for. He will be a good pro, but he is not the game changing, everydown homerun threat that Peterson is.
