Rangers, Marlins, Rays, Orioles, Royals, Twins, Mariners, Diamondbacks, Astros, Braves, Pirates, Mets, Cardinals, and Nationals are all teams that Jamie Moyer could legitimately pitch in a slot that is less than the #5 spot. So lets not sit here and SPIN this debate into who will pitch better in the playoffs.I hate that I can't really dispute this post. Hampton sucks. I actually think he could still be good, if he was ever healthy.

It is what it is bro. Even the Cardinals are up there

Coming from a Met fan,  I'm still worried.  Yeah, they lost yesterdays game, but they show some signs of the team they really are.  They had 7 base hits in a row, scoring 6 runs in the 6th inning.  As a betting man I love them tonight.  Kyle Kendrick looked really good last year as a rookie with 10-4 record in 20 starts, and an ERA of 3.87.

Check out this and other great picks each and everyday at

Third as far as moyer goes...he is a fringe number 4 pitcher pry.  Yes that 5.0 era last year isn't much to write home about, but at the same time when we try to lower the Phillies offensive abilities because of their home park why don't their pitchers somehow get the benefit of the same doubt?  I know his road stats werent very good last year, but i would say the majority of pitchers perform better in their home park regardless if for nothing else a comfortability factor.
First off philsfan, no one is lowering the offensive abilities of the phillies. Everyone knows they have the best offense in the national leauge and not because of the park, but because of Howard, Utley and Rollins. No team in the NL can match those 3 in any park.

And with regards to Moyer, his ERA at home was 1/2 run less than on the road. He had a 5.25 eRA on the road last year. And 3 of the 4 other parks in the east last year were considered pitching friendly parks in Shea, Turner and RFK.

He is your number 3 starter as of now and you should be worried.

CowboyB,

yes you know what your going to get from Moyer at this point in his career. No more than 6 innings and you better score more than 5 runs. My point with Pelfrey is you don't know what you will get just yet so why put someone in that you know will tax your BP and put pressure on your offense unless you have no choice like the Phillies do. I am not saying Pelfrey would be better but I doubt the Phillies would keep going with Moyer if they had anyone close in the minors of having a chance in the bigs. I would also guess alot of other clubs would rather give the young guys in there organization a chance before they sign a 45yr with a plus 5 ERA.

my example with RJ and Schilling was because of there age although they have been having health issues (because they are old) they still can throw the ball harder than me. Moyer cannot

Jamie Moyer went into the 7th inning 4 times last year. I don't know what you are basing your statistics on, but if they were true then he would have a 7.5 ERA. Why don't we start using facts instead of what you are doing...

AHHHHHHHHH

Jamie Moyer went into the 7th inning 14 times last year. I don't know what you are basing your statistics on, but if they were true then he would have a 7.5 ERA. Why don't we start using facts instead of what you are doing...

Facts are past, my statement was a projection of this year.  There are no facts yet on Moyer for 2008 other tahn 3.2 inn and a 7.32 ERA. With the amount of crap post you put on here you should know the difference between fact and opinion.
