The article here says Tebow was the first freshman to win the Heisman but I'm pretty sure Troy smith won it in '06, which would have been the year Florida and their starter Chris Leak won the championship with Tebow as the freshman phenom.
It should just state that he was the first sophmore to win it, but I'm picky when it comes to all the sec propaganda Dodd likes to post here.

You know how in baseball if you don't play enough games in your first season you can still qualify as a rookie the next year? Well Tebow didn't start as a Freshman, so I think the same rules apply in the SEC...that's why it's a better conference...most of the players stay for 6 or 7 years. (It's not unusual for an SEC player to be drafted at 30, either).

Um, no. The first guy is right. Tim Tebow was officially a sophomore when he won the Heisman. Check the press clippings. Still doesn't take anything away, just makes Dodd to continue to look ill-informed like he always does.

You guys obviously did not read the article "We heard all the stories about Tim Tebow coming out of high school. He surpassed the hype to become the first sophomore to win the statue. Moreno is at least the next big thing in the SEC, maybe the country. "

Our dear friend Mr. Doody, er, Dodd, amended/edited/fixed the article. Last night it DID read that Tebow won the award as a freshman. That IS the article I MYSELF (as well as Mr. Ozark and the other commenter) read. So chillax 'ugaone'...and allow our superior northern intellects to continue to dwarf yours ;) Haha, I kid, I kid.

First off weezer. There is no more "THE" Ohio State University. Its just Ohio State Univ. THE UNIVERSITY OF FLORIDA has forever taken that moniker after their back to back bitch slap of your overrated school in two different championship games. You can be "THE" and get repeatedly punked by the same school. Just for good measure LSU came around and cleared up the remaining scraps this year to. Hopefully this year the media and voters will realize that playing 9 crappy big ten teams, and then finishing against an avg. michigan team doesn't mean you should get a title shot. It's embarassing having to watch them get smoked every year when they finally play some good competition outside their own conference. Go ahead and keep clinging to that 2002 title because another one isn't coming down the pike for a long long time. the football gods gave you a blessing with a phantom PA call, and this comes from someone who despises Miami
So here's what you can do, until your school can get its man card privelages back from UF after winning two titles back to back in blowouts against the Gators, you are the one that needs to sit down, shut up, and wonder why Florida and the rest of the SEC owns your school like the Bishop Don Juan owns his hookers. it's kind of hard to talk about someone being stupid if you can't read. i clearly stated that Tebow was a Sophomore.
and to the flipping retard that says you get to stay 6 or 7 years, you're a fricking idiot. the NCAA states that you have an official 5 years, barring a loophole medical redshirt, to play 4 years of football. the only other loophole out is to attend a prep school for one semester. clearly, you've not played any college sports or college video game for that matter.
