I don't know all of this guy's comments about Memphis, but the "just hoopin'" thing was a direct quote from Rose, so get off his back.
And by the way, "just hoopin'" won't do it against the Jayhawks, who can "just hoop" and play "real basketball ball" better than anyone.
Up 28 on UNC? Win by 18 against the top seed in the tourney?
My Hawks will show you all what "just hoopin'" is all about.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk! Go KU!

Lay off Parrish. He wants us to win and is just having to write this stuff to keep his job. You would do the same thing. Go tigers and go Gary.

hmmmm if you dont know all of his comments then maybe you shouldnt have commented
he took a direct quote from rose and used it to insinuate that memphis doesnt play organized......that they only play street ball....... that there is no rhyme or reason behind what they do.....no game plan......he admits that "just hoopin" is working.....but, trust me.....its a back handed compliment....this guy is from the memphis area .....and he hates john calipari......and i dont think there is any love lost either.....he has back handed memphis all year long......and now he looks like a dumbass.......how ya like them apples mr parrish???

Go tigers and go Gary. he doesnt have to be stubborn and throw digs at the program......even DICK VITALE admitted how wrong he was about the memphis team tonight....vitale actually showed some humility about it......he claims he is a memphis believer now......just in case you didnt know...vitale picked against memphis every single game this tourny....cept for the first round....i think he picked against them even against mississippi state....

It's unbelievable how the media consistently portrays Memphis as a bunch of thuggish street-ball athletes who don't know the first thing about "real" basketball. And Calipari is dismissed as a simple-minded salesman for his program. All the writers believed that once these Memphis "thugs" ran into a respectable team like a Texas, or UCLA, their weaknesses would be exposed and coach Cal would be revealed as a paper tiger. Let's see, UCLA, Kansas, North Carolina, Memphis. which one just doesn't belong. It's clear now that the backwater Memphis team is the party crasher and they won't leave until they take home the championship.

And how near was he to being right? If you weren't watching, let me remind you it was the other MSU that got blown out.
Memphis and KU have each survived a nail-biter. KU played tight the whole game and barely managed to end a 24-game win streak in the Elite Eight. I didn't see Memphis second round squeaker, but it couldn't have been impressive, either.
Tonight's results were emphatic for both teams. I think turning the momentum back, holding the highest scoring offense 20 below their average and winning by 18 is at least as impressive as a 15 point win over an offensively challenged team who required whistle help in at least 3 recent games and never really threatened the Tigers.
If Monday follows form, one of these teams will falter embarrassingly on the biggest stage of all. On the other hand, they both may be at their best and give us a contest for the ages.
ROCK CHALK! GO 'HAWKS!

Can the Tigers get some R-E-S-P-E-C-T now please? So funny how the consensus put Memphis and Kansas on the losing side last night and they both blowout their competition. Why oh why can't any of the writers just say that Memphis, C-USA or not, are just plain good and have the ability to beat any of your favorite major conference teams. I'll admit I picked UNC to beat Kansas, but I'll say this, that defense the Jayhawks played in the first half was the best I've ever seen in the college ranks.

I believe Parrish was backing Memphis from the beginning of the season. Look at his polls, his previous articles. He had a right to doubt where the Tigers were coming from based on their, at times, lackadasical February performances. Hell, I was worried. The team has come together at the right time. For a minute and just a minute, I was worried about UCLA.
