So, Im going to go out on a limb and say Adrian Peterson....HAHA! Thats not really going out on a limb but i'm 99% sure he will be the best RB in the NFC next year. I also see Steven Jackson making a nice comeback. Here goes my list though:

1) Adrian Peterson (1,600 yds 13 TD's)

2) SUPRISE!!! Reggie Bush (1,500 yds 12 TD's)

3) Clinton Portis (1,500 yds 12 TD's)

4) Brian Westbrook (1,400 yds  13 TD's)

5) Ryan Grant (1,400 yds 11 TD's)

Any thoughts on my list?

Last year I was willing to bet my account that the Packers would win the NFC North and win more then 11 games. I like going out on limbs and seeing if they break, so for the 2008 season I am willing to bet my account that Reggie Bush BREAKS A 1,000 YDS RUSHING. Anybody willing to put their account on the line that he doesn't...and i wont forget

I couldn't put Darren McFadden on here because I dont know where he will land. If he lands in the NFC, I will have to wait and see what team he goes to, then i will predict and possibly change my list

Since 2000, an average of about five runningbacks gain 1,500 rushing yards or more.  Also, zero reached that amount this past year.  I doubt three will do it from the NFC.  (At least not those three.)

Adrian Peterson - around 1,500 yards (only if he's healthy and/or plays 16 games)
Reggie Bush - between 850-1,050 yards
Clinton Portis - around 1,300 yards
Brian Westbrook - around 1,300 yards
Ryan Grant - between 950-1,150 yards

Steven Jackson will have at least 1,300.

Sophmore slump, tougher schedule, and the loss of Favre all factor in.  I WANT to be sold on Grant, but I'm not going to over-hype him just yet.  He'll likely get 1,000 yards, but if he was to end up with 900 or so in 16 games, it wouldn't be surprising either.

I think Peterson is going to have the same sophmore jinks.   His second time around the league he kinda got stoppped.

Maybe not 1,500-yard worthy, but he does have the best offensive line in the league.  He will be leading the NFC in rushing requardless of it being 1,600 or 1,500 or 1,400 yards.

Yes my thoughts are it is wrong.  Adrian Peterson #1 is a slam dunk barring injury.  I agree with your come back season for Stephen Jackson and would put him #2.  I think the Rams draft a lineman to give some help which is what hurt last year.  They are desperate for them.

Here is my list:

1. Adrian Peterson

2. Stephen Jackson

3. Brian Westbrook

4. Frank Gore (my come back pick for next season)

5. Ryan Grant or potentially Marion Barber now being the lone back in Dallas

Clinton Portis has on again off again years.  I think this is an off year for him and he finishes outside the top 5.  Reggie Bush no way he makes top 5.  Top 10 maybe.

I think Bush will finally adjust to the pro's this year. The Saints will also make a strong playoff push so I see him contributing alot

Reggie Bush is a great change of pace back and good out of the back field, however, the RB position isn't like WR where guys suddenly come on form in their 3rd year.  Running back is a position where guys generally contribute right away.  I don't see Bush - a guy that hasn't cracked 600 yards rushing in his first two seasons - as all of the sudden being a 1,000 yard rusher.  IMO he is not capable of carrying the load as a full time back.

Reggie Bush's future in this league is as a wide-receiver, or nothing.  Look at what Wes Welker did all season in 07'.  He caught a little dump-off out of the slot, and then juked people out of their shoes to gain 15 yards.  Reggie Bush is a supreme talent but he isn't being used properly.

He's 6', 203 lbs.

Lets look at the sizes of some WR's in this league...

Greg Jennings, 5'11, 197
Koren Robinson, 6'2, 205
Jabar Gaffney, 6'1, 200 lbs

See, just because a guy is a 'running back' doesn't mean he is physically and genetically MEANT to be a running back... he could easily make the transition to a slot receiver and be somewhat productive.
