You own the 5th pick in an NFL draft. Your team has a pro bowl running back who is injured quite often and a developing young QB who is coming off the bench from the previous year. Your former starting quarterback decides to not resign with you after your offensive line lets him get sacked the most times in the league. Your defense is average but getting old. The team is heading down a dangerous path because your young QB needs a few years to develop or someone to take the pressure off of him to win now but your fans are restless and sick of losing. Your owner cannot let you spend anymore money on big name FA either...so you really need this pick to fall through.

Here's the situation, somehow a star running back who was projected to be picked within the first 3 pick falls to you at the 5th pick. Meanwhile the top two OL and defensive players have been already drafted. Also the top QB is still on the board but is only projected to be worth a 15-20th pick. What do you do?

	Interesting scenario. Sounds a lot like what happened to the Vikings last year when Adrian Peterson fell into their lap. However, my choice was trade the pick. 3rd overall pick should allow you to maybe get a high 1st and a 2nd or 3rd so you can maybe get an OT and some help on the D with the first few picks then use one of your 3rds to draft a RB. In my opinion, and of course there are going to be some who disagree, but good RB's can be had in the later rounds. Read somewhere earlier today that the last 3 leading rushers in the Super Bowl were 2 undrafted players a 7th round pick.

	well actually I didnt think about the Vikings...me and my friend got in an arguement about the Chiefs and what they should do if Darren McFadden fell to the fifth pick. What do you think they should do now that you know the specific scenerio?

	For the Chiefs no. Larry Johnson won't like that at all and there will then be a lot of money tied up in RB's. Chiefs need to hope that Jake Long falls to them and if they don't trade out and get one of the other T's in the middle if they can. Otherwise I'd say get Sedrick Ellis or a CB since their starters are getting up their in years, but I don't really think any are worthy of that high of a pick.

	Draft the Running back. You never know if Larry Johnson will get back to his stud form or not and you can't pass on greatness.

	Whose to say he will be great? I'd say other than QB's RB's have a much higher success rate of being a bust. Larry Johnson is a good back but the line in front of him is maybe average at best. I think if you improve the OL you could also easily help Brodie Croyle gain confidence. 2 birds with 1 stone.
