Ryan newman's penalty

My guess is nascar deemed that there was not malicious action in trying to circumvent the rules, they probably saw it as being an accident, maybe a bad adjustment on the car put it over. having the oil lid off the car is in most people minds something that had to be done maliciously. I mean who realy thinks 4 bolts came lose?

As I meant to say the car sits a little bit higher it's not a blatent violation.  It may have been a accident even though in my opionion nothing in NASCAR is a accident.  This is not the same as trying to re-engineer a oil cap to get more pressure.

It's because Carl Edwards is much more ugly of a human being the Ryan Newman. If you didn't know that's how Nascar decides penalties.

Plus not only is Edwards ugly but he also does backflips and that's worth 100 point penalty alone for acting like a gymnast fairyboy at a Nascar event.

Maybe they gave Edwards more points for sticking the landing?
