A. He was never actually convicted

B. The suspension was for one season.

C. If he screws up again, he shouldn't be allowed to come back. But he deserves another chance.

D. If hes not playing football, hes more likely to get into more trouble.

brady2moss85: "A. He was never actually convicted"

So what? Neither was O.J. Simpson. He's still a criminal. A violent and dangerous one at that.

"
B. The suspension was for one season."

Again I say, "So What?". What does the gutlessness of the NFL front office have to do with anything? If the league had the mettle to demonstrate any principles at all they'd gather 'all' of the criminals from around the league into a room and say to them, "Thanks, it's been a slice but so long and be strong".

"
C. If he screws up again, he shouldn't be allowed to come back. But he deserves another chance"

Yeah, right and then the next time he gets arrested we'll all say, "If he screws up again, he shouldn't be allowed to come back". He doesn't deserve squat. Scratch that. He deserves to be treated like the common criminal he is instead of a pampered celebrity. If he was treated the way he deserves to be treated he'd be in jail.

"D. If hes not playing football, hes more likely to get into more trouble."

That's why we have prisons. It's not why we have football teams.

Ha! Now that's funny. I have to tell you there, bud, you sound an awful lot like a cop-dodging hood yourself. Either that or you're some kid who hasn't matured enough yet to stop being impressed by "gangsta rappers" and that primitive noise they call music. The only other alternative I can think of is that you're pulling my leg.

If the former then all I can say is that this is the sort of response you should expect from any normal, law abiding, non-sociopathic adult. Of course there's also those poor slobs who are so star struck by celebrity that they actually think that people like O.J. and Pacman getting away with their crimes is a good thing. But that's a different disease that should be left for a different discussion.

If the latter then I'll say, kid, one day you're going to grow up and find you need to make a lot of sacrifices earning an honest living, raising a familly, and so on. When that time comes you're going to encounter people who steal from you, threaten you, behave recklessly and drunkenly in the neighborhoods where your kids play, and so on and so forth. At that point in your life, as long as you haven't become one of those losers yourself, you're going to find that sleazeballs like Pacman Jones really make you angry. Of course you could become one of the mindless star struck folks spoken of earlier but there's nothing I can say to help you with that.

If you're pulling my leg then I congratulate you on a darn fine post. I removed the swear from your quoted text because CBS is going to come along and remove your post, not because it offends me. Might as well preserve it.

2 reasons why he should be reinstated and 2 reasons he shouldn't:
first of all: I personally believe he deserves a second chance everybody does. He committed more than one crime but they were all before 2007 til recently when accused of assaulting a woman.

second of all: Chris Henry had a shorter suspension with less crimes and Pacman has stayed out of trouble since his 2007 run in with the law. Henry has not.

Reasons he shouldn't be:
First of all: He was never prosecuted for his crimes and that is horrible. At least Mike Vick is in prison for his crime.

Second of all: While suspended he pushed his limits the whole time bringing himself to the fore front of the news. First the wrestling then the rap album after that the appearance on Michael Irvin's radio show. What I don't understand most about this is Odell Thurman was suspended for a year and disappeared stayed out of the news, and out of trouble. Personally I think he should be reinstated. Athletes that have commited a crime and gotten suspended from the league for it should be take a note from Thurman. Don't draw attention to yourself. Tuck your tail between your legs and stay out of sight and out of trouble until you ask to be reinstated. Do nothing but charity work and weight lifting. Pacman has drawn too much bad attention to this league along with the Bengals prison team.

pacman is a moron, and doesnt deserve the opportunities hes been given, but he was suspended for one year. the commish said, you sit out a year and you can come back. hes done his punishment. and as little as he deserves it, he should be allowed to return, on the condition that he is gone for good should be f up again.

Pacman doesn't deserve anything. I'm sick of people sticking up for athletes because they're heroes when those athletes broke the law. To say Pacman should be allowed to play football because it's less possible he'll get into trouble if he plays is not the Commissioners or anyone elses problem. He's an adult. The NFL is not a daycare. He's got money. He should higher someone to baby sit himself and to tell him "hey, assaulting this guy is not a good idea, Mr. Jones" instead of relying on a football team to do that. Even a drug dealer that spoke to Jones the night of the shootings in Vegas said "We gotta slow down, man. We gotta get him focused on football, man. He's focused on too much other shit."  And then Jones was reported saying that he has to do stuff like drugs because he can't "take all the stress that [he's]  dealing with right now,'" STRESS? The guy brings it upon himself. He should talk about the paralyzed victim the night of the shootings about stress or the security guard who took two gun shot wounds. Or you can just send him to jail, along with Henry and Wilson and these other menace's to society.

A. An Alford plea _is_ a conviction in every sense of the term.

He did it. He probably did much, much  worse.

B. The suspension was for one season on the condition that he stays out of trouble.

Creating a rap album that glorifies the lifestyle/behavior that got him suspended sends the message that he hasn't learned anything from what he's done. And didn't he get arrested *again* during the suspension

C. How many times must he be arrested?

This honestly makes me sick. If I were arrested on a felony charge, I would lose my job and the ability to work in my profession anywhere in the US. Not a conviction, mind you, AN ARREST....yet this guy makes MILLIONS...is clearly guilty but luckily could afford good lawyers...and made a rap album that

D. So football, with its high pay, high party, high profile lifestyle is going to help him get his act together? Flip your logic:

If he wasn't getting into trouble, he'd be more likely to play football.
