Mr Jones was 2-3 last night and has a modest 2 game hit streak. Is he starting to come out of his funk? I sure hope so. As much as we all have been on his tushy, and with good reason, if he breaks out he would still be a great addition to Dodger Blue.

yeah, he put a ball in the gap yesterday for a triple, and today he drove one to the wall that would have been ten rows back at citizens bank park. It's warming up a tad, and so is he. It's a good sign.

Yeah last nite he seemed more patient at the plate but I still say he needs to drop about 20 pounds. But he wasn't the only guy out there warming up. How about Matt Kemp? He needs to be the everyday RF just as Andre Ethier needs to be the everyday LF. Sorry Juan Pierre.

Ireed 87, I meant to give you 5 Stars, please forgive. CBS needs to find a way to allow us to fix our mistakes. Anyway, I agree about Pierre. He is a great guy to have as a fill in, but he should not be the first three outfielding. On a Big League 162 day schedule, he should start 3 days a week, giving Jones, Ethier, and Kemp a rest once a week apeice. I could live with that. It is time for a youth movement in LA, and the seeds of that you are beginning to see.

It's great to see the sticks coming around for all the guys, though I want to see them keep it up against someone other than the Pirates.
I also agree that Kemp and Ethier need to be the everyday corner outfielders with Pierre used in spot situations to give one of the three a rest. Like day games after a night game. I do recognize, however, that the team needs to give Pierre some at bats so he can raise his average and develop some trade value if they ever hope to unload his bloated contract and noodle arm.

NE2WA... the NL West pitching is dominant...I believe our goal has to be to dominate the teams outside our division and squeak by against the teams within our own division...the pitching in the NL West is really good..maybe with the exception of the Rockies right now...we just have to overcome that and beat all the teams in the NL Central and East....we totally can...they aren't facing the kind of pitching we do on a regular basis...heck..even the Giants held there own against the Cardinals...

Vin Scully is still sharp as a tack.
Last night when the Pirates were warming up he goes....And warming up in the bull pen is....#42. And then he chuckled. Dreading when he retires.
I hope Jones goes on a tear. I dont expect him to him .325. I do expect him to hit 30 jacks. He will be fine, lots of time left. Plus wants he starts seeing the pitchers more and more, he will get better. I do have to question Torre though....why is he batting Martin and Jones together? I would put Martin 8th so he can see more fastballs, and put Jones 6th so he can also see more fastballs. But hey....I dont have any WS rings

I honestly hate to tell you this...I am a Braves fan, but like the Dodgers too. Andruw won't break out of his slump. He has been for years fanning on those down and away breaking balls. He doesn't listen to the hitting coach (got two of 'em fired in Atlanta) and he honestly doesn't make any adjustments. He'll end up batting around .250 this year and hit about 35 homers, but don't expect too much more than that. He's still an amazing center fielder and will save a lot more runs in the field than he'll cost you at the plate, but as we used to say in Atlanta:
Oh God, we've got a rally going, just don't send up Andruw....
Best of luck!

dpwtv...glad you stopped the conversation before I mentioned...How deep in the pocket was the ring? And how did you know it was in there?
Am I the only one on here who is getting tired of all of these ppl commenting on Andruw's weight? 20lbs heavy now? Based on what? Hey if Andruw has a weight problem, what about Fielder, Howard, Ortiz....? Andruw has a mechanics problem. Not keeping his weight back during game AB's. He and Easler have been working on it. The work has shown lately.
We're not even 10% into the season. Andruw's 2007 season will be worth a 2 year 36mil contract (considering in 2007 he put up better power and run numbers than any Dodger..not to mention Gold Glove and the fact that he saved more runs than the noodle arm JP). His defense has already kept us in games. Plus...the most important point...2 YEARS so he is barely blocking anyone's progress. Look at the contract years the other 2 big CF's got locked for!!!!! And it will be a difficult arguement convincing me that Torii is a #1 bat vs Jones. I love Torii but he has been and always will be a secondary bat. Great glove, great clubhouse guy, but also older.. Hmmmmm 2 years for a 31yo or 5 for a 33yo. Jones has been more productive over his career.

I Think the guy is a bust thank god we only signed him for two years . i would rather have Pierre play for him every night. The only thing working for jones is his arm. At leasrt with pierre were going to get some hits stolen bases and some runs/rbis . I sure hope that he turns it around soon. go Dodgers.
