"I was at the Mets game last night. They booed Milledge relentlessly each and every time he came to bat. What was even funnier was that because of a little finger sprain, LoDuca didn't play, but the Mets fans didn't know that so when the catcher spot came up in the order and the announcer said, batting 7th, the Catcher, everyone started booing so loud.

It was funny."

That is funny ... funny that Mutts fans are so dumb they didn't know the difference.

chrisisbuck,

You shouldn't worry about a 2 time World Series champion. You should just wonder when you're team will reach that achievement. Afterall, it took 42 seasons to get that first 1.

To be honest with you, I would rather have my team in contention all year and not win the whole thing then have my team dwelling in the cellar the whole season.

chrisisbuck-

What a stupid post. They only have Hanley? What about Jeremy Hermida, one of the best young players in baseball? Or Mike Jacobs, the league leader in home runs? And how about Josh Willingham, Dan Uggla, Scott Olsen, and that phenomenal bullpen? Everyone is also forgetting to mention the fact that the Marlins will be getting Josh Johnson, Anibal Sanchez, and Sergio Mitre back at different points of the season.

I am going to laugh so hard at idiots like you when the Marlins win this division.

I watched that game (unfortunately i was in Syracuse and was forced to watch the game on the New York station which killed me as a Phillies fan) and not only did i c that Reyes was out at home but also the NY announcers even admitted that he was out and they were lucky to win that game. Its a shame the game had to come to that but oh well, no worries. Phils will be fine. This is one of the best April's the phils have had in a while. They should be fine. I could definitely c them in the playoffs either as NL East champs or a Wild Card.

Rock,

I'm trying to figure out how a Red Sox fan can get this fact incorrect over and over again.

Wayne Huizenga sold the team in 1998 to John Henry who then sold the team to Jeffrey Loria when that whole John Henry buying your Red Sox/Loria leaving the Expos took place around 2001-2002. How could you miss that?

Loria was the owner for the 2003 Championship and he didn't buy anything. He pretty much lucked his way into it.

PHit's simple math...Rock is one of the plethora of red sox fans who frequent this board who didn't start watching baseball or the red sox until after they won the ship...thus he has no recollection of anything you are speaking of.

The Braves won't finish above .500 this year.  I said it in the pre-season thread and I still believe it will happen...79-83...sorry fellas...say good bye to tex and thanks for playing.

That is exactly what i was thinking as well Axe...don't they say the lineups before the game?  And don't they have a jumbotron that lists the batting orders and the players name?  I know reading and hearing english isn't something most of the Mets players can do...but i would have thought at least the fans could muster that up.

The jumbotron at Shea only lists numbers of the players and not their names. Secondly, everyone was wearing 42 last night  so the people in the stands probably didn't realize it. And last but not least, they started booing before the name was announced, hence batting 7th, the catcher.

so you guys are wrong and sound like complete imbiciles.

that one won't last long, even against, say, Maspeth. LOL.You sure do seem to like mentioning my name for some reason.

Reyes was out but at the end of the day the one that counts is the umpire and he said save. Discussion done.

They didn't notice the guy was warming up left handed in the on deck circle or that he was a left handed batter?  Or that the guy who caught the enitre first inning before his first at-bat in the second wasn't Paul Lo Duca?  Sounds like Mets fans are the complete imbiciles.

Well this thread really spun its wheels, didn't it...

I see 40,000+ are supposed to be at the Nats new stadium to see the Pope. Perhaps they should sign him to a long term deal.

He would be their first long term contract. I don't think he'd go to the Yanks. Do you really think the Pope would accept being their second highest paid player? Boras' line to the Yankees would be "How can you not be willing to pay the Pope more than some dude with purple lips?"(yes, Boras would be the Pope's agent.
