I saw a post on here using the term "Braves Nation," and I got to thinking that it would be fun to come up with something original to call the fan base of the Braves.
I'm not saying that Braves Nation is a bad term, but it's typical. It's been used by several colleges over the years, especially the Gator Nation at Florida. With baseball, it received a ton of push with the Red Sox Nation recently.
What does everyone think? Is Braves Nation something you like or dislike? Any thoughts on what the fan base could be called?
I haven't come up with anything myself just yet - but I think something with Tomahawk or Chop in it could sound pretty cool.

Hey Prac that is a great idea. I was thinking of that last season and i couldn't come up with anything original. I did think a long time ago when Turner Field first opened that they should give it a cool name like Jacobs field is called "The Jake" We should call Turner Field "The Reservation". It has an Indian background and its original. I will keep the fans name in mind though. Go Braves and "Welcome to the Reservation"

When Turner Field first opened, it was refered to as "the Ted" by many sports anchors, especially the ESPN nickname-givers.( not a real word, but couldn't think of what else to call them)

I've always thought war-chanters would be a good name considering the ever-popular Braves tomahawk chant. war-chanters doesn't quite roll off the tounge though. How about the Tomahawk scalpers. lmao. The brave brotherhood perhaps? I'm looking at the thesaurus for other words with the same meaning as 'tribe'. lol
I rather like the brave brotherhood.. has a nice ring to it.

Glad to see there is some other interest in this idea out there...
Bravochick10 - the Braves Brotherhood is kinda of catchy. I like that one.
Here are some other ideas, some I like and some that are just there to help further the discussion:
Band of Braves
Bravo Bunch
Braves Congregation
Chop Club
Chop Coalition
Chop Crew
Fraternity of Braves Fans
Tomahawk Choppers
Tomahawk Territory
Tomahawk Tribe (using tribe to me is a bit Indians-ish)
Tomahawk Union
I also was trying to come up with some things using Atlanta, such as Atlanta Allegiance or Atlanta Alliance, but those didn't seem specific enough to the Braves in my opinion.

I like the idea of an original name for the fan base. The only problem I have is using Reservation just because it reminds me of the movie Major League.

I loove the Tomahawk Union, Chop Club and Tomahawk Territory. We should all bombard Joe Simpson with letters as to which is our favorite nic's and then once he starts using them.. that loopy john schiambi will use it.. then skip.. then chip.. then petie.. then the humdrum boys over at espn.
I can here Peter gammons now "i'm down here in ft. lauderdale at the Braves spring trianing camp and I must say the Tomahwk Union is revved up about the 2009 season.."

We are our country's team;America's team! Red, white and blue is our colors. Maybe a name that is patriotic. I do like what the other guy said;Tomahawk Reservation or Choptalk Reservation, Home of the Braves Reservation, let's see-----hmmmm---I like Choptalk Reservation----hmmmmmm-Warpaint reservation---War Memorial Reservation/nation-------hmmmmmmm-- I'm thinking--------Chief Tomahawk nation---I'll try to think of something.

I like the names mentioned earlier
Chop Club
and
Bravo Bunch
here's one that just landed in me brain
The Channel
(I know, all you trivia buffs know it was Andy Messersmith's nickname given by Ted Turner back when free agency began
in honor of the Superstations ability to broadcast games)
but I like it
here's another one honoring Henry Aaron
Hammer Time
GO Braves 08!!!!

Anyone who was around in 91 when things started rocking again knows the nickname was "The Chop Shop." Not really for the fanbase but ATL-Fulton County Stadium specifically.

And goodness the Hammer Time suggestion reminds me of the early 90's Falcons "2 Legit 2 Quit" squad with Deion, Andre Rison, Michael Haynes, and Brian Jordan.
