That's right, Isiah Thomas is no longer the head coach of the New York Knicks. He is not their GM nor their President any more.

The team may keep him on in some back office role, probably one that handles sexual harassment cases for the organization, but that's ok.

Anyways, this has been the worst 5 years as a Knicks fan that any team in any sport can endure. Not only was the losing terrible but the way the team went amongst its business and how the players quit on the coaches was just sad.

Time to move on and rebuild. I know this is a baseball board, sorry, but this board is the most active and i thought it would be best suited to be on here.

EMT - Thomas is many things that if I said them would get me warned - etc.

He ( almost singlehanded ) ruined the CBA a few years back and that was well documented in a SI issue.

putting it mildly - He is a very bad person ....

Ohh you could not be any more right. I'm so glad this cancer is gone and now hopefully we get a great pick in the draft and start to build a winner. It won't happen overnight (because our GM is not  old pals with a GM that is willing to give up a superstar like a moron) but at least we can start to head in the right direction and with Thomas gone today a quick U-turn from the wrong One.

Please god let the Ping Pong balls give the Knicks the 2 pick and D ROSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go Yanks,

I know that. Not only did he ruin the CBA, but he screwed up the Raptors too. He is a bad, bad man and if he ever gets a significant job again in the NBA that person who hired him should be fired immediately.

Thank god it is over. Mark Jackson really needs to be here as the next coach. He will not tolerate guys taking off plays and not playing defense. He wasn't the most athletic Point Guard ever, but he was one of the grittiest guys to play the game the last 20 years.

Lifequest,

They have one more year of Stephon next year then he is a free agent. I really hope they can get Rose in here, dump Mardy Collins who is best suited to play pick up ball at the local SportTime complex. Let him Stephon play next year and earn his next contract with another team and then ease Rose into the lineup.

I really liked what I saw out of Wilson Chandler the last few weeks. He's got a perfect NBA body and isn't afraid to mix it up inside. Walsh has a lot of work to do, but they have finally taken a step in the right direction.

Now what Dolan has to do is what he did with the Rangers and let Walsh do his thing like Sather has done with them.

The Rangers went from the biggest laughing stock in the NHL to one of the most respectable teams in just a few years. They really are close to a championship and if they get hot offensively in the next round against Pitt they might get there.

I agree 100%. Let Skiles go to the Bucks Jackson is the one I want anyway. The guy is a great basketball mind. I actually met him a few times because he went to the same Junior High as me (he graduated alot earlier) and we both played on the team at different times but the coach was still the same. He came to the graduation for my grad class, and it was insane that first time he walked through the doors while we were in the middle of practice.

Thanks FJD! We have a lot to cheer around here in NY. The Giants winning the Superbowl, the Mets and Yankees being competitive. The Rangers doing very well again. It is good to be a NY fan because our teams have a shot to win.

It has been rough to be a Knicks fan and they may only win 25-30 games next year, but that is ok as long as they play hard and play defense i can guarantee you Knicks fans will be happy with that.

Fans in Detroit can thank their lucky stars that the owner chose Joe Dumars over Isaiah Thomas to run the Pistons. Of course Bill Davidson wouldn't have put up with the crap the Knicks have put up with. Isaiah would have been gone a long time ago.

He's one of the greatest NYC players ever. He was great in college. That team with him and Mullin were awesome. It was sad that he wasn't on the Knicks when they made it to the finals that first year in 94, i really thought if they had him then they would have won that title instead of Derrick Harper, even though i loved the hand checking master.

I know this isn't a popular sentiment today, but what the hell happened to Isaiah Thomas?

Remember when he was the star point guard at Indiana, and everyone loved him? Or when he was the floor leader (and a hell of a player) for the 2 time champion Detroit Pistons?

Now he's never going to get hired again in any basketball capacity, and is forever branded as a league and franchise destroyer.

Not saying he didn't have it coming, but wow.
