Everybody else, outside of Brewers fans just sees him as an injury wating to happen. And yes, with the last 4 seasons in order, his first 3 get thrown out the door.

How is this any different than Mike Hampton? Both haven't been healthy for 2-3 years. I know Hampton is older, and there is a slight chance that Sheets could get over his injury bug. But outside of age, what's the real difference between the two?

I doubt you were getting paid millions to throw power curves when you were 10.

Ben Sheets really only has two pitches (he lacks command of his changeup, especially before this year, and doesn't throw it in crucial situations). If his middle finger is sprained, he can't get the break he wants on his curveball, hitters sit on the fastball because that's pretty much all he has left.

Or he could just toughen up because they are paying him millions and stop whining about pain that cannot be medically explained.

But if you want to keep on comparing Ben Sheets' pain threshold to mine when I was 10, go right ahead, you won't get much argument out of me.....

But he's not whining. It was Ned's decision to take him out yesterday.

OHHHHH I get it, so it is Ned Yost that has the ESP and is able to tell that his pitcher is experiencing pain without Ben Sheets telling him???

Obviously a player isn't going to hide pain from his manager. That's just asking for a disaster. But my point is that Benny was willing to pitch through it, as you say he should be doing.

I don't entirely agree with this. Pitching through an injury without telling you manager is the worst thing a pitcher can do. Ask Chris Reitsma. It's also a pitchers responsabilty to tell his manager how severe his injury is and if he needs to come out. While we can't know how bad Sheets  was hurting, he probably didn't need(or want) to come out.

Ok. So he was whining. That is all I was trying to say.....

He always has an injury that can't be seen thourgh MRI/X-ray, and it always takes him longer than the norm to come back....

He missed way too much time last year for a jammed finger. Pull on that thing and play ball.
